I’m not sure if anyone’s posted this already, but jesus fucking christ.

Yesterday, Bernhard Maier, an Austrian showjumper was banned by the OEPS for his CSI1* round.

I’ve never seen him jump before, but I have no idea how he is successful when he is riding like this. He blindly gallops at every jump, crashes through it because he doesn’t give a release or get off the horse’s back, and then heaves back on its mouth as hard as he can. 

Has anyone seen his previous rides?

I saw a video of the horse with a different rider, and he really is an incredible horse. This rider has no business trying to ride at this level, and he is lucky he was on such a forgiving horse. Hoping simply banning him from competition is not the end of this and that this horse, and any others he has for that matter, end up in better hands.

Promote proper fitness training for your equines 2k17. You can’t just leave your horse sitting doing nothing for weeks and hop on to go for a hardcore trail ride or jump a course. Not fair, not nice.

Not fair, not nice, a really good way to ruin a horse’s work ethic, and an even better way to end up with otherwise avoidable injuries/accidents.

Properly condition your horses. It’s beneficial for both of you.
