Once, there was a single clan - the Original Clan - run by the matriarch known as Madame Mother and her three children: the oldest, Jumpwing, the middle child, Sneezetail, and the youngest, Stunclaw.
One terrible leafbare, the many cats of the Original Clan were hit with starvation and disease. To ensure clan life could continue, the matriarch sent her three children to create new camps, staying with the ill to prevent the disease from spreading much further. While the Original Clan collapsed, many of its members leaving to find new ways of life, three new clans were built in it's place: The proud and self-sufficient Jumpclan, the artistic and peaceful Sneezeclan, and the studious and inventive Stunclan.
Now, only a few generations later, a similar plague has struck Stunclan. Left without a healer and with silence from their ancestors, the few cats remaining in Stunclan are becoming desperate.
