Didn't you have a wife once upon a time
OOC time: Um look based on what I'm seeing and hearing from other people, I think that's going to be retconned out. We retconned out the wife character from the Labrynthian fight once we knew the mod was okay with it. Additionally, the Mannimarco blog was reset to no longer have ever had a child with the wife. Also, I first found out about that development through the rps with Mannimarco and still honestly don't know much about where that was going. So it looks like a reset/retcon is the best decision.
Also also I wouldn't want to run ahead as though Morokei had a wife once in the past because that'd be like making up stuff about someone else's character without their consent. It wouldn't be fair to the other mod.
I did like some stuff I wrote as married Morokei but unless I hear new info or something changes, I think we're retconning this blog to have never been married. At least not to that character.
The three reached the entrance of Labyrinthian. As expected, it was cold but with the clear skies and the sun beaming down at them, it was tolerable.
Morgan felt some old anxiety that took root a lifetime ago as they opened the doors to the ancient crypt and entered.
Eivine informed me she had killed the skeletal dragon and I everything else is my guess. Morokei might placed different traps and guardians now.
@twinsouled-dragonborns @draconic-seer @worldeaterofficial @jun-ahmul-nahlaas (no pressure answering)
Morgan felt Alduin's eyes in the back of her neck. She tried to make herself smaller in her hiding spot and calm herself enough to muster up a spell or a shout. Her shaking hands prevented her from concentrating on a spell as she tried to focus on stop shaking.
Most of the draugr were dead, it was just her, Morokei, and Alduin. She's defeated both of them before, she could defeat them again. But not when both are here. She had at least one card up her sleeve. She held both of her hands as she focused on the name.
Vul Kaal Dez.
Morgan hoped Eivine would be able to hear, even from here.
@worldeaterofficial
(He picks up on the voice, ever distant yet perfectly clear to him. Once more, he summons a rain of meteors and urges the draugr forth to hunt Morgan down. He just needs to eliminate her, and things will become so much easier.)
[In a giant burst of lightning, Eivine appears, having heard Morgan's call. Two undead Thalmor, a wizard and a soldier, follow after her. Still crackling with electricity, she points at Alduin.]
Fight him.
JOOR ZAH FRUL!
[Without wasting another second, she lets her two undead thralls fight Alduin while she rushes over to Morgan.]
Quite the predicament. You ready to head out?
(A visual of how Eivine appears right now is under the cut. Flashing gif warning)
Morokei's robes billow. A new opponent. He pauses a moment to take in whoever would dare enter the battle. Now, there is even more magicka-attacking lightning. Meanwhile, his atronach crackles and finally returns to its plane of oblivion. No matter. The dragonborn must be reminded of their mortal shells. He shouts.
"Gaan Lah Haas!"
Morgan stares at Eivine for almost an entire minute before she rises out of her hiding spot. She briefly glances back at what used to be her fellow college mages. There was nothing she could do right now.
I'm ready to go.
She spoke in a small voice. If they get out of here now, Eivine won't get hurt either. The dread she was experiencing got only worse from Morokei's shout.
@worldeaterofficial
(Eivine's dragonrend weighs on Alduin's wings, keeping him in a powerless state, plaguing him with a feeling of weakness, which quickly leads to a searing rage. At first, the matter of killing Morgan was impersonal, something he hoped would not be necessary, surprisingly. But now that Eivine has used dragonrend, an insult to his language, a gift they never should have touched woven and broken to be used against his kind, it becomes a furious ambition of his to destroy these two.)
(Though the meteors haven't stopped raining, he shouts a fierce wave of fire, the blaze so deafening it drowns out the words of his shout, heat so intense it could sear through the stone ruins around them.)
@eivine
[Between meteors, fire, and Morokei's shout, Eivine had her hands full. She mentally commanded one of the undead Thalmor to switch its focus from Alduin to Morokei, in order to try to draw the dragon priest's attention away from Eivine and Morgan. Her vitality being drained, her skin getting burnt, was all terrible enough for her to gladly bail. She does what she can to shield Morgan from the wave of fire, gritting her teeth in pain and silently thanking the gods for her dunmer heritage. She then opens a portal to Winterhold.]
Hurry, Morgan. Through there.
@jun-ahmul-nahlaas
Morokei is surprised when an undead turns its attention to him. He opens up lightning upon the walking corpse.

Surreptitiously in the peaks above, Morokei lifts a hand at the signal. Magicka responds. A spell settles over the valley. No one shall be leaving by magic means.
"Hi daal het nuz fent ni bovul nol het."
The quartet are suddenly blasted by blue winds streaming down as though they come from the mountaintops themselves. The voice comes with a customary drain of magicka much like when Morokei spoke before the gathered dragonborn's own battles with him.
The dragon priest is here after all.

(With a deafening shout, pieces of the cliff fall from the earth that held them. The maze's exit is blocked. Draugr start to appear from the shadows, each wielding weapons of jagged bone.)
Spaan Dein Suleyk.
(The draugr grows stronger with the shout, each one linked to and protected by Alduin's mighty life force. The dovah himself remains landed, just far enough away from the fight to be unreachable as his army fights.)

Morgan felt the panic rise as some of her magicka was drained. She glared at the old woman as she cupped her hands and prepared a bigger spell.
Shit. Are you two alright?

@worldeaterofficial @jun-ahmul-nahlaas @draconic-seer
Thagan smiles widely under his mask, the crackle of his magic still remaining quite strong even as his magica is being drained- it's as if his well is constantly being restored. He looks to the draugr for a moment before Donvir walks slowly towards the closest ones, not quite caring if he doesn't have much magica, as he's more physical. "We're perfectly fine. There's a reason we wanted to come to deal with this one specifically."
At that, he pulls his twined Dawnbreakers out, looking dead at them as he does.
"Krii Lun Aus."
@worldeaterofficial @jun-ahmul-nahlaas @draconic-seer
Svea took advantage of the fleeting moment of confusion to bring herself to her feet and sprint away from the other three to avoid getting caught in the crossfire. She spotted an opening between the fewer draugr that came from the left and weaved through them swiftly before one could get a hit in on her.
The only thing that this draugr horde understood that they were to do was attack. Indiscriminately. So, Svea had to be clever enough to minimise her priority as a threat. Luckily, as her retreating form disappeared around the corner of the outer maze wall, none of the draugr chose to pursue, keeping their focus on the three still boxed in with the word wall.
@jun-ahmul-nahlaas
@worldeaterofficial @dragonborn-archmage
Morokei notices Svea escaping. Quickly, he shouts to cover her disappearance from draugr and dragonborn. A blizzard envelops the dovahkiine. The ice storm will distract his enemies whereas the draugr are resistant. It is like Svea's fabricated story has come true.
@worldeaterofficial @twinsouled-dragonborns
Krii Lun Aus.
(He does the marked for death shout back at them. If anything, the dovahkiin's shout seems to strengthen him.)
( @twinsouled-dragonborns @dragonborn-archmage )
Morgan took cover behind the closest wall she could find and crouched down. Alduin and Morokei who can drain her magicka. Why did she choose to go on this one? Pettiness? Probably.
She crouched down and kept concentrating on her spell. Morokei also uses magic, shouts are sort of like magic. A lighting storm should affect the both of them.
@twinsouled-dragonborns
@worldeaterofficial @jun-ahmul-nahlaas @draconic-seer
Donvir makes a face as he hears his shout repeated, but cares not for such things completely. Thagan will heal him if needed, after all. Immediately after, the bosmer rushes towards a portion of the many draugr and flurries slices after slices at them with his Dawnbreakers. Elsewhere, Thagan can feel Morgan's spell being prepared, and so he starts to prepare a bit of normal chain lighting, aimed towards the rest of the horrid risen. The moment she releases hers he would do just the same with his own.
@worldeaterofficial @jun-ahmul-nahlaas @draconic-seer
The draugr that surrounded the trio were mostly comprised of Scourge lords, Death lords and Death overlords; something to match them in strength, and, quite hopefully, overwhelm them.
Svea could feel the electricity in the air from the build-up of the dual lightning spells, even as she reached the caved-in entrance and turned on her heel quickly to go through a side door in her left that led up, to one of the elevated walkways that lined both sides of the open chamber.
She wasn't at all in a panic over the possibility of any of the offensive spells reaching Alduin or Morokei, the ward Morokei had placed over the chamber prevented any sort of magic from getting out, and that included transportation or teleporting spells, and the both of them were safely on the other side of the ward.
As Morgan was priming her spell, one of the draugr scourge lords lumbered up behind her, greataxe raised up high over its head and ready to strike.
@jun-ahmul-nahlaas
@worldeaterofficial @dragonborn-archmage
Morokei floats in closer to the battle, though remaining on his side of the ward. Normally, he liked to start battles with summoning an atronach but he would need a moment to do so after casting the ward, even after having alternated between the thu'um and conventional magics.
@twinsouled-dragonborns @worldeaterofficial
(From where he is perched, he summons a storm of meteors from the tempest above, each one aimed at the dovahkiine. He watches them in horrific satisfaction, the depth of his eyes betraying the loathing he holds for these three, for mortality, for Akatosh. He will not rest until he has his victory, until his rage is heard and listened to by all the realms.)
@twinsouled-dragonborns @dragonborn-archmage
Morgan was far too focused on her spell to notice the draugr right behind her. It was until one her instincts screamed at her to move. She got up and spun around, getting a minor cut from the draugr.
When Alduin summoned his meteors she sighed heavy and threw her lighting storm towards Morokei until it stop right above him, lighting striking him or the area around him.
Morgan took several steps back and bombarded the one draugr with ice spikes. She ignored her bleeding shoulder.
Stupid fucking shit!
@twinsouled-dragonborns
Donvir decides to use the meteor plummeting down towards him to try and take out, or at least harm a large chunk of the draugr, dashing away with a swift whirlwind sprint shout. Of course that dragon wants to play with them like a child plays with their food. Heinous. Thagan however decides to chain lightning any and all draugr he's near, right before side stepping a bit once he hears the noise of a falling meteor. "Heeeeey giant LIZARD! Stop with that shit or I'll eat YOUR heart next! And Morokei-"
He just... flips the dragon priest off. All while wearing his mask. @worldeaterofficial @jun-ahmul-nahlaas @draconic-seer
It seemed that such bravado would be the death, or near death, of Thagan. One draugr just lucky enough to have been spared by his chain lightning, approached from his blindspot. It let out a rough, gurgled battlecry before it brought its weapon down onto his back, cleaving right through his shoulder blade in a vicious hit.
@jun-ahmul-nahlaas @worldeaterofficial @dragonborn-archmage
Morokei begins to summon a storm atronach.
@worldeaterofficial @dragonborn-archmage @twinsouled-dragonborns
(Alduin is starting to feel drained from the effort of sustaining his army; not enough to make him a feasible target, but enough to cloud his focus ever so slightly. He shouts again, smoke flowing from his mouth.)
Laas Suleyk Haas
(The shout heals all the remaining draugr, giving them more than enough strength to continue fighting.)
( @dragonborn-archmage )
Morgan charged herself up before she cast threw a fireball into a group of draugrs, the majority of them fell but the hardier still stood with their weapons high.
She glanced to Alduin as he shouted. Another attack on her arm forced her to pay attention to the draugr. The wound was deeper this time. Despite the screaming pain, she lifted up her arms to shoot down more draugr with ice spikes.
We need to get out of here. This is far too much than we had planned!
@twinsouled-dragonborns
Her companions never respond. Morokei's storm atronach has appeared. It descends upon the Winterhold cotingent. The Daedra only adds to the whirlwind of ice and meteors with its own attacks. If any of the overwhelmed allies scream out, it is lost in the maelstrom. They are finally overcome by the onslaught of enemies.
Next to Morgan, bodies blacken. New corpses contort and then crumple to the ground. Electric energy has chained a new generation of college mages together in death. Their archmage is left out: the long bolts of lightning only just barely arc around her. It might be her small cover that sees her through, or perhaps fate or even sheer dumb luck. Whatever the reason the end conclusion is the same: Morgan Brucetus is all alone in the storm.

"I apologise deeply for my absence. I have been torn in two different directions since your return to me; one with the progeny, and one with yourself. This brings me to a matter which must be discussed. I have no doubt in my mind that this will not be an easy thing to hear."

"Daali diivon ziili med hi nuz zu'u dreh ni mindok hin rotte."
Taking Morokei's hands in her own, Svea caressed them, bringing them up to her lips to kiss.
"I have not been transparent with you, my heart. For this, I am remorseful."
"Kiimi, what are you speaking of?"
Svea sucked in a deep breath. It was now or never. "In your absence, there was another; the joining was isolated, but from it, bore fruit."
The space between them is silent. But Svea knows the moment Morokei understands what she has said because the muscles in his hands tighten, fingers curling away from her.
"You-" Morokei cuts himself off. He reorders his thoughts.
"How many years ago now? Fod?" He has drained his voice of any emotion one way or another. It is cold like a mask.
A part of Svea already regretted the admission and wanted just to rescind what she'd said and go back to the way things were, but she pushed down those feelings and pressed on. It wasn't right to keep Morokei in the dark. This needed to be done, regardless of how she felt.
"Nine hundred and fifty-four years ago, I laid with somebody named Mannimarco at a celebration. I did not do this out of lust, or a desire to see you hurt. The coupling was singular, and I never saw him again after that night."
The exact stating of time causes a reshift for Morokei. He had been gone for the span of many, many mortal marriages. In that time, Svea could have moved on from him entirely. Many couples did not make it even as far as a hundred years. Some might have deemed him essentially dead and their vows dead also. Not Svea. She had not given up on him.
But if Svea had not considered their marriage dead, then that would also mean she had knowingly broken her vows.
"Is it true you meant to remain committed all this time?"
"I apologise deeply for my absence. I have been torn in two different directions since your return to me; one with the progeny, and one with yourself. This brings me to a matter which must be discussed. I have no doubt in my mind that this will not be an easy thing to hear."

Morokei was staring dejectedly at his deconstructed burger when he is surprised.
Morokei is struck at the sight of the sizzling bacon. He gazes in awe, lost for a second. Then hurriedly starts up and bows in gratitude.
Morokei puts the bacon together with the ingredients of his deconstructed burger. Quickly, he removes his mask and holds up the meal. A baconator. Finally, he can experience a proper meal again. In fact, it has been millennia since he even saw or smelled food.
Finally, he bites down. The burn and heat stuns him but luckily his tear ducts atrophied over the years. It is awkward eating without lips and the sides of his mouth; he has to hold a hand up to his face. Despite the struggle, the taste is astounding to Morokei. This may legitimately be a holy experience. Morokei is careful to treasure the sacred sustenance. So warm, and fresh, and delectable. Radiant, like a meteor plummeting from the sky oddly enough.
Own a musket for home defense, since that's what Akatosh intended. Four ruffians break into my house. "What in oblivion?" As I grab my powdered wig and Skyrim rifle. Blow a golf ball sized hole through the first mer, he's dead on the spot. Draw my pistol on the second mer, miss him entirely because it's smoothbore and nails the neighbors dog. I have to resort to the cannon mounted at the top of the stairs loaded with grape shot, "Tally ho lads" the grape shot shreds two mer in the blast, the sound and extra shrapnel set off horse stable alarms. Fix bayonet and charge the last terrified rapscallion. He Bleeds out waiting on the guards to arrive since triangular bayonet wounds are impossible to stitch up. Just as Akatosh intended.
. . . "Zu'u beyn krifi. Grahmindolu ko Bromjunaar lost pruzaan."
*deconstructs your burger*
Morokei is distressed at this. He would've liked to try eating again after so long.
The three reached the entrance of Labyrinthian. As expected, it was cold but with the clear skies and the sun beaming down at them, it was tolerable.
Morgan felt some old anxiety that took root a lifetime ago as they opened the doors to the ancient crypt and entered.

Thagan smiles widely under his mask, the crackle of his magic still remaining quite strong even as his magica is being drained- it's as if his well is constantly being restored. He looks to the draugr for a moment before Donvir walks slowly towards the closest ones, not quite caring if he doesn't have much magica, as he's more physical. "We're perfectly fine. There's a reason we wanted to come to deal with this one specifically."
At that, he pulls his twined Dawnbreakers out, looking dead at them as he does.

Morokei notices Svea escaping. Quickly, he shouts to cover her disappearance from draugr and dragonborn. A blizzard envelops the dovahkiine. The ice storm will distract his enemies whereas the draugr are resistant. It is like Svea's fabricated story has come true.

Krii Lun Aus.
(He does the marked for death shout back at them. If anything, the dovahkiin's shout seems to strengthen him.)

Morokei floats in closer to the battle, though remaining on his side of the ward. Normally, he liked to start battles with summoning an atronach but he would need a moment to do so after casting the ward, even after having alternated between the thu'um and conventional magics.

The three reached the entrance of Labyrinthian. As expected, it was cold but with the clear skies and the sun beaming down at them, it was tolerable.
