Misibis Bay Reward: Leo Di Caprio's Villa :)
21march2011: after the whaleshark encounter in the morning, we hurriedly rushed back to our lodge in donsol, to pack all our things and head back to legazpi. we booked a couple of nights in misibis bay resort and we wanted to get there early to take advantage of all the included activities in the package we got. we were ready to leave donsol at 11:30am, but getting to misibis turned out to be quite a challenge.
we had originally planned to book a a van to legazpi which would have taken just an hour. but since it was a monday, there were less tourists in donsol and there was no van available. Oh no!
plan B- went to the transport terminal to find a regular commuter van that plied the donsol-legazpi route. it was just p65/pax and we could book all 12 seats to have the van to ourselves for a faster and more comfortable trip.
unfortunately, the van was already full when we got to the terminal at around noon. but one of the drivers in the terminal assured us that there was another van coming shortly. we chanced upon an austrian traveler who had a 3pm flight to catch in legazpi. he didn't want to pay for an entire van for himself so oyeen and i offered to split the cost of the next van 3-way.
segue to 10minutes later: there was no van coming according to another guy.
plan C offered to us was to rent a jeepney for p1,200.
or plan D was to ride a regular jeepney to the next town of pilar, where there should be more vans for hire.
by that time, i somehow felt compelled to get mr. austrian traveler to legazpi on time, and without him getting overcharged. nakakahiya naman kasi. this was the last memory he'd have of the philippines before leaving the country.
good thing a local girl helped out by haggling with one the the jeepney drivers. so we ended up riding a regular jeepney for p600, split 3-way. so okay na yung p200 share ni mr. austrian traveler. there were other passengers from the terminal but the driver no longer picked up passengers on the road, para umabot kami sa legazpi for the 3pm flight. another concession was that the driver took us all the way to airport in legazpi, instead of just stopping at the regular jeepney terminal in daraga.
so nakaraos rin. :) got to legazpi a little past 2pm so umabot naman yung mama sa flight niya! ang hirap maging mr. tourism! haha.
from the airport, we just took a tricycle to nearby hotel venezia where we got picked up by the transfer service from.misibis bay resort. medyo late rin yung misibis van so mga 3:30pm na kami nakaalis. it took another hour and a half to get to the resort from legazpi so past 5pm na kami nakarating. 1 day wasted. sayang. :(
pero may pampalubag-loob naman when we got to the resort. :) we got a room upgrade! leo di caprio was booked to stay here last year. but the visit was cancelled when the media got wind of it. anyway, we got to stay where he most likely would have stayed! sosyal! hehe.
most of the rooms on the resort are located in clusters that surround a big pool.
we got a free-standing villa that faced the beach and had it own private plunge pool! yahoo! :)

on one side was the access to the beach. :)
di na halatang nag-jeep at tricyle lang ako papunta dito. bwahahaha!
