When It's Time

Relationship: Matt Murdock/Karen Page

Summary:

Three weeks into Nelson Murdock & Page, and they've built something good. Something careful. Something that Matt is increasingly certain he's going to ruin by being a person with feelings. Karen knows what she wants. She's just not ready to want it yet — not when things are finally this good, not when there's this much to lose. She's very reasonable about all of it. She drinks a lot of water she doesn't need. Matt, who can hear her heartbeat from across the office, is not fooled. Something has to give. It's just a matter of who goes first.

Summary:

(Set during S3 of Daredevil)

Matt Murdock is dead. Enough of him anyway. Whatever crawled out of Midland Circle is more devil than human and it needs to stay that way. But Matt can’t just let his old life go, his old friends go. When he finds Karen has been staying at his old apartment, he can’t resist checking in on her. When she shows up one night bleeding and hurt, Matt Murdock resurrects himself from the grave to keep her safe.

Karen Page is falling apart and pretending she’s fine. One unexpected night brings Matt back to her and forces her to confront a lot of long buried feelings that have been resurrected with him. Can her and Matt finally be honest with each other and themselves or will the threat of Fisk destroy any hope for Nelson, Murdock and Page?

When I first watched the second season of the original series, I thought the woman who bumped into Foggy was just an ordinary person walking down the street. I really thought it was real. Back then, there wasn't all this "hype" surrounding Daredevil, and social media wasn't overflowing with btss all the time, leakes and all this stuff. Daredevil felt real back then.

It was Matt's apartment with his cookies in jars, his poorly painted front door, and his "foggy" windows.

It was their run down office. Foggy stealing from the neighboring office.

It was Karen's adorably messy apartment.

The hospital where Claire worked and Ben's wife was hospitalized.

It was Stick taking young Mart to a park.

Claire's tiny apartment.

The Nelson clan.

Josie's real bar, packed with drunks, outlaws, misfits, and criminals.

Marci and Foggy's apartment and all its details: oranges, photos, papers stuck to the refrigerator door, wine and Foggy closing the bedroom door so as not to wake Marci.

Fran poking around.

The fish market... Never sleep...

None of this exists in Born Again.
