So I really enjoy this episode. For completely unbiased reasons of course. There is some cringe 90s language abt the biological differences between Curzon and Jadzia but the episode in my opnion skillfully trots the line between making her the most transgender worm this side of the quadrant while still also having the conceit of Trills conceptually. I relate to many individual quotes and this fucking lovely image. Yes wormgirl go and fuck that granny.

Oh god. Q...Okay so yes they rewrote him in my opinion in DS9 and Voyager and ruinied him at that.

The powerimbalance between him and Vash are bad enough but his flagrant abuse of it is even worse. With Picard it kind of worked because the writing team had the sense not to make him a creep. Ugh

The fact too that he is more consistently a creep towards almost everybody than just a weird lil trickster god guy.

Sad i was hopeing for more suffering for O'Brian specifically but i guess universal suffering will have to do.

I really dislike early Odo's writing daaaamn...

Really enjoy the dynamic with Quark though. How he defends him even if they have been adversaries for the longest time, how he helps the investigation without needing to be asked to. It adds much to his character. If only he was less of a bastard to women.

Like sure the show makes it so Odo in the end was partly right to suspect Ibudan, though the Clone as far as we know was innocent as he himself admits later. So just as much as murdering your clone is murder so is abusing your power as the constable of the station.

This episode would be a whole lot better if it actually awknowledged that but alas they have to set up the solids vs nonsolid conflict i guess...

Also Bashir you have a whole boyfriend can you stop hitting on Jadzia for like a minute?

I did not remember how soon they just jumped headfirst into the politic stories in DS9. I just wish they'd have done it differently. Like why tf are ex freedomfighter/terrorists tryna blow up a big piece of their own culture. Ugh. DS9 what are you trynaaa saaay here??? I guess they didn't know that the prophets are in there but that's not much better imo.
