A multiyear study shows spanking kids makes them more aggressive later on
I haven’t pissed people off lately by reminding them that ALL types of physical punishment of kids has been proven beyond ANY reasonable doubt to have only negative long term outcomes.
So let me scream it from the hilltops:
Stop hitting kids. End of sentence.
If you think, “but I was hit and I turned out just fine” let me pre-reply: NO YOU DID NOT. You think hitting a child is ok, how the fuck does that qualify as “fine”?????? From one abuse survivor to another: please start healing yourself.

the best thing about rulette 2 is that i do think it adds substantial mechanical improvements to the game design of the first iteration — paul and sam as ‘players’ intended to follow and be called out on rules, interesting new rules/prompts/modifiers, the golden rule concept, etc. — but all of that slowly but surely becomes overshadowed by josh ruben landing by chance on all of the specific rules that transform him into a baby-themed tongue-heavy gyrating monster
HAPPY PRIDE MONTH HONEYS!👩🏾❤️💋👩🏾🏳️🌈✨
on the way home from the cats my dad took a very slight detour to show me a construction site and I got to chat with one of my neighbors that I haven't seen in years! that was fun
Nothing is better than animal whose job it is to basically exist In a specific space. Bodega cat basically just lives there. Bookshop dog whose most taxing duty is waking up from naps to say hello to incoming customers. Librarian horse that basically just goes for walkies with their buddy everyday. Doctor's office fish that like to follow people back and forth as they move in the office.
All love and appreciation to the critters and to the kindly humans to make sure they live in peace and joy
...librarian ...horse???
In rural areas there are librarian horses and librarian burros that pull cards or get pack loaded with books to take out to folks who can't be reached by other means.
Here's a link to the modern og's, but as I understand it they still exist in various places:
They do!
During the Great Depression, a New Deal program brought books to Kentuckians living in remote areas
The Pack Horse Library Project (est. 1935) aimed to provide reading materials to rural portions of Eastern Kentucky with no library access.
This is one of my little favorite niche interests in history. There’s also a great fictional work called The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek.
My mom likes to tell me about how when I was a little kid riding public transport with her I'd always smile and giggle and chat with weird old ladies who smelled like cat pee and homeless folks and strangers dressed in bizarre outfits but any time a tidy and respectable businessman in a suit and tie waved at me I'd immediately clam up, and she takes a great deal of pride in my supposed inherentability to clock personalities but the truth is I do vaguely remember those bus rides, and it was never about the clothes or the hair or the smell, but more because everyone "strange" asked interesting questions and listened to what I had to say and seemed to think about what I said while the neat and tidy and rigid folks only ever acted like they were going through the motions, which was boring as hell and also pretty annoying
Well-to-do finance manager with tidy shoes: "Why hello, sweetheart. Can you say 'hi'? Aren't you cute. Are you on a trip with your mom?"
4 year old me: why must we do this
Fantastic old woman in the leopard print coat: "Why yes, my tooth IS real silver! Nobody ever asks me that. Do you like cats?"
4 year old me, suddenly paying attention: Finally, A Person Of Intellect
Bärli in a bucket :]
the keen eyed viewer may see a treat lying right in front of the bucket. this is because Bärli is an idiot and tried to reach the treat through a small hole in the bottom of the bucket. he did not succeed, and then also didn't get the treat after leaving the bucket.

I feel like Tumblr should not only have blocklists extend to all side blogs but also if you block someone's main it should block all other blogs associated with it.
mostly because it annoys me how people have our main blocked but not our side blogs so I can't fucking see when they interact with us. and there's also people who we have blocked but still have side blogs that I need to send to hell
Curious what is actually normal for bed time. Go for your normal/average time, not your most extreme or what you wish it was.
what time do you go to bed? (local time)
7pm or before
8pm
9pm
10pm
11pm
12am
1am
2am or after
it's never consistent
some other time entirely
I just don't know what grownups do for bedtime and I want to know!!!
