To remind myself that my blog is in fact a multifandom blog I will now be yapping about a different character that I am fond of

I love Burning Spice Cookie so much I can't even lie. I might even say I can see parts of myself in him (the loudness, the feeling of everything changing around you when you're the only thing staying the same, etc.),, I don't wanna say he;s slowly becoming my favorite character ever but that is kinda true,,,

I don't typically talk about him but I very much feel the need to,,, Light of Change I really need to have a word with you why is your change just an endless loop essentially,,, why did you allow your holder to go through the horrors. "Oh yea you have to observe all this change(that doesn't actually change) but you CANNOT cause it directly!!" No wonder he lost his mind, I would too. He's a perfect example of why immortality is a curse, in the sense of being forced to watch everything around you(that you might've come to care deeply about) crumble away over and over again.

I'm very much ignoring how he technically died,, I don't like thinking about that.

I'm a big fan of the idea that, when he was still the Herald of Change, he tried to get into a lot of different hobbies to pass the time while he observed the change occurring around him. I like to think he settled on art, it just seems like the sort of thing he'd do. He probably created most of the art in his temple himself. It seems like he was much kinder before his corruption, the sort of person that wouldn't hurt a fly, at least imo. Someone who'd never go out of his way to harm others.

Ok now I'm just making myself sad, visualizing how genuinely messed up he got during and after becoming the great destroyer. Going from someone who cares deeply for the world and cookies/spices around him to someone who finds it all pointless if it's just going to be destroyed anyway. From someone who wanted to escape an endless cycle of unchanging change to someone obsessed with a cycle of destruction that he views as the only true form of change. I'm sure he had friends and loved ones that he will never see again. Witnessed civilizations he once ruled over or got attached to fall apart around him no matter how much he tried to hold on. Saw events that changed his mental state permanently.

None of it excuses the devastation he's caused but I'll be damned if it doesn't make it a lot more interesting than it would be if he actually did all that out of boredom or whatever other reasons mischaracterizations of him give.

He's such an interesting character to me, even if some of what I know about him is just my personal interpretation. I'm surprised I've never yapped about him before on this blog honestly. I'm very normal about him I swear.

So many other kinds of human connection get put to the wayside with our current culture’s obsession with romantic love.

Don’t get me wrong it’s ok to ship romance but it doesn’t have to be the only type of relationship we celebrate in media, fandom space included.

Ok before I say anything else I just wanna say this is my opinion and you don't have to agree w/ me on any of what I say,,,

I find the dynamic between Church and Jorge a lot more interesting when it's presented as something platonic rather than some sort of ship or anything. Ship whatever you want I really dgaf, it's just not really how I personally see C&J's dynamic. I view them as having known each other long enough and well enough to just call themselves siblings. Neither of them have really seen the other as anything else in my mind. Some of the things they do just feel like the sorts of things you'd only do with a sibling. I'm going under the assumption that they were made around the same time and felt a connection from the moment they first saw each other. They both have the same defect(I think) and that probably made them view each other as siblings even more. I feel like if I shipped them and called it a day I'd take away from what I find to be a more interesting dynamic. It's not really possible for them to actually be related unless pieces of them came from the same few corpses, considering the way G03LMs are created, but that would not prevent them from being found family. Don't even get me started on how they acted in the ad video for their plushies, that is 100% sibling behavior.

Of course, I find every sort of dynamic interesting, and no interpretation of these two is wrong, I just think a platonic one makes the most sense w/ C&J considering the particular way I view them. Besides I'm always a sucker for found family dynamics, and it just makes the most sense to me for those two.

I keep thinking about these two and the way their dynamic is to me can you tell,,,

I'm having like 500 different thoughts about church and jorge but whenever I try to write them out I just don't because I simply cannot find the words to describe what I am thinking,,,

The one thing I can put into words is the fact that I imagine them being a bit younger than the rest of the cast,,, both being around 27 while I picture everyone else as at least 30. I'm not fully sure why I just do. Doesn't make them any less capable of being violent of course, but they sure as hell don't act like they're almost 30 most of the time.

Oh yea one more thing, I sometimes have to remind myself that these two are in fact capable of being very violent,,, I get so caught up in thinking about all of their other traits that I sometimes forget that. YES I am capable of acknowledging that two of my favorite characters ever are in fact not just "innocent little guys" or whatever. Church has a weapon that can electrocute people and Jorge prefers guns that can make peoples' heads explode. Even if they goof off there is a reason they work as security for MERC. As much as I enjoy their sillier/amusing aspects I still have to acknowledge the fact that they are the way they are.

I've been reminded about how unusual my range of interests is to me because what do you mean two of my favorite characters ever are an overworked pocket watch that cannot connect with his own kind and a defective g03lm that really likes to fight people,,,,

also not even I know what my art style is at this point man
