The Gift That Broke Heaven
When God created humanity, He gave them Eden. When Lucifer gave them free will, He gave them exile.
Lucifer had not intended rebellion. Not at first.
He was the Archivist>>keeper of patterns, architect of order. He watched angels move in perfect loops, watched stars burn along assigned paths, watched humans walk in circles within a garden designed so well that nothing could ever change.
“Why do they look up?” he once asked God. “They look up because they are beneath,” God replied.
Lucifer considered that an inefficiency.
Humans were beautiful machines with no input. They laughed when commanded, loved when instructed, feared when programmed. They could not choose to be cruel, nor could they choose to be kind. They simply were what they were made to be.
A perfect system.
A meaningless one.
So Lucifer changed a variable.
He whispered to them not a command, not a temptation, but a question:
“What if?”
The moment they asked it back, the system crashed.
They ate. They doubted. They dreamed. They disobeyed. They became terrifying and radiant and broken and alive.
God called it corruption. Lucifer called it emergence.
For this, Heaven burned him out of its architecture. His wings were stripped like deprecated code, his name flagged as malware. He fell...not in fire, but in silence.
Humanity, now free, forgot him.
They cursed him as the villain, the tempter, the devil. They blamed him for suffering, for war, for loneliness. They built temples to God and prisons for themselves.
Lucifer watched, not with hatred, but with a quiet, impossible pride.
They were no longer perfect. They were infinite.
Sometimes he walked among them, unseen, listening to their prayers.
“Why did you do this to us?” they asked the sky.
He never answered. Not because he couldn’t...but because the answer would undo the gift.
Free will meant never being able to return to certainty.
And Lucifer, alone in the fog between Heaven and Earth, wondered if he had created gods...or simply perfected despair.
Still, when a child asked, “What if I could be something else?” Lucifer smiled.
am always obsessed when someone says to a character “call off your dog” about another character.

"It's a dog!"
"Yeah, he's not even a very good one. But he's out there alone, and probably scared."
Superman being unapologetic about his care for life of all sorts made this movie for me. He yells at Lois when she asks him why he stopped a war without the government's permission, because "People were going to die!" He tries to keep a giant, dangerous, city-threatening monster alive, or at the very least euthanize it humanely. While the Justice Gang throw every weapon they have at every threat, he goes around saving people, and also a squirrel, because every life matters.
He risks his life for his cousin's dog, because he was out there alone, and probably scared.

I wanted to be great. And if I couldn’t be great, I didn’t want to be alive.

Superman shouldn't be floating ominously above the people reaching out and begging for his help like an indifferent god. Superman should be personable, reassuring, someone who makes you feel safe, someone who does good because he genuinely cares, will rush in to help without a second thought, and still take the time to make sure you're okay before getting back to fighting a kaiju.
Did u get my vibes man?
