To start, I'd like to say that I'm still working on Siren!Ody and his story. Most of these are notes of things that I've hinted to in rp / a

*Alex had spent the last month digging up everything he could on that couple. So far nothing concrete but... still plenty of evidence to support the truth. They had been in the area during the time he must have been left/spawned. And had been together since then. They also seemed to be a family of power hungry scoundrels... although no one had been emperor like he was. He had ended up deciding to invite them back against Osiris better judgement. He nervously walked up to you*

I uh... can we talk?....

"Of course. What's troubling you?" Odysseus inquires, placing his hand atop his son's shoulder in a gesture or reassurance.

He had been curious in his own time, debating the idea of directly prying into the minds of those claiming to be Alexander's parents, yet not wishing to snap whatever threads of trust there might be between them if these strangers did so happen to be who they claimed. So, he waited.

Father... i want to invite those people here... you know... to see how trust worthy they are? I... i wont do it unless you are okay with it though... you will always be my father and nothing will change that. Please know that.

"Oh." The siren's ear flicked in silent contemplation before he sighed. "I know, Alex. Despite what may be said, you will always be my son as well. Invite them. I will stay if you'd like me too, but I will not be offended if you wish for me to leave either."

Why would i wish that? I never want you to leave.... *in fact there was no one he wished to be there more... maybe nausi? But it is different... maybe if he had his father he could help keep him grounded.*

"Oh no, no, it was just a thought. I know there are any variety of opinions and plans people hold. Humans are ... complicated, no offense. Over my years, I've learned that concept well." He smiled, gently ruffling Alexander's hair as he'd done when his son was much smaller.

"I'll be here. You just let me know when you plan to invite them over, alright?"

*he nods* they should arrive in a few hours.... will you be with me to greet them? Please mama....

"Of course. I'll be right with you, son." He pauses before adding: "I promise."

*he hugged Odysseus tightly.* thank you....

*a few hours later he comes and gets his father* theyre here....

The siren nods and takes Alexander's hand, allowing him to lead the way. He was already mentally preparing to have to argue, though mayhap he was simply too cautious. Not everyone had bad intentions, and the last thing Odysseus wanted was to accidentally shatter a chance at reconciliation for his son.

Father... what if they are genuine? *he asked... to be honest he was more scared of that then of them being fakes... he already had perfectly good parents he didnt need anyone else to come in and come be between them....*

The question causes a pause to take Odysseus, a thoughtful expression settling on his face. "It would make no difference to us if that's what you fear. You will always be my son. Even if we do not share the same blood, I will always be here for you as long as you'll allow me to be. Should they not agree, well, there isn't much to be done. But I shall stay regardless of their opinion."

*he hugs his father before they enter the room. Not wanting to let go afraid of what would happen when they walk through those doors. But he was man and no longer a boy, a emperor. What kind of ruler would he be if he couldnt even face the possibility of birth parents existing. He pulled back and holding his fathers hand he led him to them*

Al how wonderful to see you again! *if Odysseus was paying close attention he would notice the fakeness in her voice. The man and woman both gave Odysseus strange looks when alex would look away for even a second*

The siren keeps a neutral gaze, even when the couples were far less polite. He had learned how to read others after the years he'd spent in his youth following the mannerisms and language of humans. Odd creatures. Unpredictable and complex. Very few were able to hide so openly.

Odysseus placed a hand on Alexander's shoulder, offering him a small comfort in the tense moment. "Apologies, but what were your names?" He poked into the conversation with a polite smile.

The old king waited for Alexander to finish before he added to the words spoken. It was reassuring comfort from his son and the soft smile that graced his expression for but a moment was proof enough of that.

"Visha and Doran," he nodded, "I am Odysseus, Alexander's father. You will respect him if you wish to stand in his presence. That is not negotiable."

*he smiled at his father and the couple both gave fake smiles*

*alex was pulled away for a second and the two stared at odysseus with looks of hatred* so... a fish masquerading as a father? You just here for the money?

Odysseus was unsurprised by the change in their attitudes. With the looks he relieved, he expected this much. Keeping the polite smile, the siren only allowed a hint of annoyance to show itself in the flick of an ear.

"Salamander. Not a fish." He corrected. "I'm here to support my son. I have no need for wealth as a king in my own right."

*Alex came back in* sorry guys! Had a small crisis but everythings fine now! How about dinner?

*Alex stuck Close to Odysseus as the other two kept trying to weasle their way in between*

So Odysseus. You must be getting much older. We thank you for all youve done for our son but i am sure you are quite tired hmm?

Excuse me? *Alex made a face*

Oh no offense of course! I meant nothing by it. Just want you to know that now Alex has us and you do not have to bother yourself as much now!

"Hm. I appreciate the sentiment but I would much rather stand by his side until it is no longer plausible." Odysseus spoke back, barely masking the slight bite to his tone as he continued, "It truly is no bother, Visha."

*Alex's "parents" came up to Odysseus and brought him a bowl of some kind of fish soup* Hello dear! Alex wanted us to bring you some dinner *they practically shoved it in his face*

Odysseus pulls his head back from the dish and eyes it with a very noticeable skepticism. "Right ... well you'll have to excuse me, but the seasoning hardly masks the smell of fish." The old king tries to retain an unbothered look, but he can't help the slight turn-up of his nose.

It wasn't like he was against fish, it tasted alright, but he could easily spot their true intentions from across the sea itself. It wasn't like they were great liars.

*I sit on the sand, looking out into the water. I lean over to Odysseus, with a whisper.*

“Is it just me, or is seeing an identical you as a siren a little awkward?-”

*I nod, watching the siren, and whisper back.*

“No, it is odd, I agree-”

"You do know I can hear you, yes?" The siren mentioned calls out from the sea, deciding to approach the two with careful movements.

His gaze lingers on Polites for a moment, almost scrutinizing, before he comes to a conclusion unspoken.

"You are also very different than what I'm used to. Should you not be in the Underworld?"

*I’m unfazed when he looks at me, I only look back.*

“We should be, but are not. I’ve stopped trying to question it.”

"Understandable. I suppose it's not the most unusual thing I've seen." He blinked. "Where is Eurylochus, then?"

*I frown, looking in a vague direction for a moment.* “Somewhere around here…”

“A few miles away, at most.” *I shrug.* “Don’t know.”

"Hm." The mention has the siren thinking before he folds his arms over a rock near the shore. It wasn't quite his Eurylochus, the same brother he fought with, but the idea of his survival still weighed heavy. "And you linger here? For what purpose?"

[ when the prophet faced the kingdom of Ithaca again, it was impossible to see all that changed. They knew well that much had, but not enough to know exactly what. What they do know, however, is that walking into a kingdom as they appear would startle even the most stoic of guards. The sight of a dead man is a truly terrifying thing ]

[ thankfully, nymphs were raised on tricks, and they were taught at a young age how to get the best outcome possible for them. So, with a slight shift in their cloak’s stitching and color, as well as a flower bondage switched out for their usual blindfold, they wandered into ancient grounds ]

[ eventually, under the guise of a traveling oracle—technically not a lie—they got permission to enter the castle. As eager as they were, though, they were hesitant. A kingdom much unlike their own. Unfamiliar, and though they knew someone to trust, how could they ever feel so sure. With one hand reaching for their staff to travel back to their forsaken isle, and the other reaching towards the soft ground to sit, it would be safe to say that they were greatly torn between decisions ]

ooc: aaa - it is not a myth thing or ever mentioned (as far as I'm aware-) just a silly headcannon I made since Siren!Odysseus is based on an amphibian and a majority of species hibernate! (brumate, to be more specific) :D

Fun fact: it's actually the reason behind why his design lacks scales commonly associated with the fish half of merfolk

also also - just a heads up that Penelope and Telemachus have not been written by me nearly enough to have a grasp on their personalities as of yet ^^' that does not mean, however, I'm not gonna try!

Even to the most imperceptive of people, the palace itself was rather quiet; a mix of peace and unease brought about by a paranoid king after his return and the reassurances of his wife. The few guards that were around remained stationed at archways and doors, one of whom couldn't help yawning as the supposed traveling oracle passed by their position.

A light snow continued to fall from outside the windows, bathing the halls in a familiar cold glow from the winter sky. The sun, in all its best efforts, managed to provide brief moments of warmth when its gaze managed to peer past the clouds.

It was only when Tiresias reached for their staff that the prince of Ithaca had spotted them. For a moment, he wondered about leaving them to their thoughts before deciding against the action and instead approaching with near-silent steps; a result that came with the teachings of his mentor.

"Hello there," he called, stopping once he'd reached what he deemed a reasonable distance to the stranger, "are you here in search of someone?"

[ the prophet, unseeing, had no knowledge of the approaching young man. So, when they heard a voice, their immediate reaction was to jump, and reach for their staff to defend themselves with ]

[ however, as the man spoke, the prophet lowered their staff, and their posture relaxed once more ]

“Hello . . . I am, actually. In search of an old friend of mine. I believe he’s supposed to be here. Somewhere.”

"Ah." Telemachus notes the wrapping around the other's eyes and mentally scolds himself for not realizing sooner. He would have made himself more notable to the ear.

Shrugging off the minor guilt, he thinks of who was currently residing in the palace, let alone what of those slim names would know an oracle. In the end, he settles for a simple answer.

"If it's my father, Odysseus, you speak of; he's currently resting. Though if you have a different name, I could help you look for him." He offers.

[ they hum, shifting as though uncomfortable being seen by the eyes of the living ]

“It is your father. I can wait for him, or I can leave, if you’d prefer. I wouldn’t want to overstay my welcome. Besides, your father knows where to find me.”

"You said you're an old friend? Then you must know of my father's hibernation. He won't be awake for a while." Telemachus explains.

"I wouldn't mind helping you get situated in one of the guest rooms if you wish to stay. Or, well, my mother may like to see you. She wouldn't mind the company. If you two have spoken before." He continues, unable to hide the underlying excitement at having the chance to meet an old friend of his father's. He'd only ever heard stories of a few, including Odysseus' brother and sister.

[ the prophet chuckles; had they known? Never. It would’ve been nice to hear. But, then again, it wasn’t too long ago when Tir first explained the habits and traditions of nymphs ]

“I see. Hm. I won’t need much to be situated.”

“I wouldn’t mind speaking to your mother. I don’t believe we’ve spoken in … years. And anyway, once everything’s settled, maybe I can tell you a story or two. I’ve been through enough to fill an entire palace full of stories.”

"I would appreciate that greatly." He smiles. Even if the other can't quite see it, he hopes it comes across in his own voice.

"Are you more comfortable following my steps, or would you prefer a hand?"

Call him childish, but he was certainly excited to hear any tale from the other, hoping that their conversation with his mother wouldn't be too long, though definitely understanding the need for one.

[ the prophet laughs, gauging the uneven ground with their staff before standing up ]

“I’ll follow your lead. Your kingdom’s ground isn’t as uneven as I remember it to be.”

[ smiling faintly, they follow the prince into the palace, wary of every step and only ever missing a few ]

Telemachus wasn't used to many visitors. After just about everything, the palace was shrouded by a feeling of dread. Maybe it was divine, or perhaps the hands of this family carried too much blood that it followed them within the cracks of the foundation.

Stopping in front of the door to his mother's study, the prince paused and turned to face Tiresias once more. "I'm sorry, I just realized I never quite caught your name."

[ the oracle smiles, humming ]

“Tiresias, the Oracle of the kingdom of Thebes. Though, Tir works just as well.”

"Telemachus of Ithaca." He replied politely before opening the door to Penelope's study. The quiet creaking of the door alerted the queen to the presence of two figures, and her gaze was averted from her tome to look at them. "Mother, you have a visitor. This is-"

"Tiresias." Penelope interrupted. She'd consider herself a fool to not recognize the nymph. Even after all these years, she remembered how close her husband and the prophet had been. Just Odysseus' stories would have been enough. "It's been an age since I've seen you, dear."

[ the oracle nods, ever polite and wary, though a part of them did loosen up ever so slightly ]

“Well, it’s been many more on my part. Having died so many years ago. I must apologize, though, for the slight intrusion and for not visiting sooner. Many prophecies and many who would not listen. Though, I imagine you gave experience with those sorts of characters.”

“ . . . how is Odysseus?”

"Wait, you died? How are you here? How old are you? Did-"

"Telemachus."

"Apologies." He paused, though a look from his mother motivated him to continue. "Ah, right. I'll leave you to talk." And with that, he left the room.

"Sorry about him. Just like his father when he was young." She smiles fondly before standing and gently taking Tiresias' hand in hers, leading them to a nearby cozy chair. "Please, come sit. I do not mind in the slightest."

"Odysseus is alright. He's currently resting in our room. He gets up every now and again, though he'll only truly be moving in a few weeks . . . but how about you, dear? Has the afterlife given you something good at the very least? How is your wife?"

... Ody. Remember that time that freaky ass spider attacked us by breathing and we had to get Tiresias to come save us cause you, a man of Sparta, the king of Ithica.. also could not kill the spider?

*They're smiling. But their tone is awkward and not loud and booming. They either killed someone, blew up and orphanage, or did something stupid.*

"You did not have to word it as though I was incapable. The Gods damned thing was a straight punishment from the divine ... but yes, I remember. Why? What have you done?" He raises a brow, curious yet also looking around for a potential angry parent or an army following the short individual.

Don't be mad. Okay. Cause like... it was an accident. And I have a wife. She likes the hell spawn and said it was cute. Pray for me before she gets a collection. Anyways. So... I.. ACCIDENTALLY found a.. nest of them and uh, found out the tiny ones are basically invisible!!!!...

And so... I.. POSSIBLY... MAYBE... tried to freeze the nest.. missed.. and.. now there's a bunch of freaky ass spiders in my apartment, and I wanna humbly request that I stay here til my knight in shining armor killed the demons. And I wanna stay here.. reason why I said not to get mad is cause... there's a 50/50 chance some are here as well.. due to the fact they chase people :D

The look Odysseus gave was probably most easily related to a disappointed mother. With a sigh holding the weight of many unspoken words, mostly reprimand, he ran a clawed hand over the side of his face.

"I would say no. Should, really - but believe it or not, I still believe in good hospitality." He moved his hand to gently ruffle Icey's hair. "Yes, you may stay. Though if any of those things end up in my room, I'm sending you to Tiresias myself."

He then pulled his hand back to adjust his cape. "This does give me a chance to ask you about something on my mind, however. There was something - a god, I suppose - that said you spoke of me. Goes by the name Glitch." He paused.

"Does that sound familiar to you?"

Eh?... Uhhhhh... Oh yah! He's some guy that I came across in the woods, randomly find him around my house when I'm alone and talking to myself- dunno why. He overhears a lot..

"Hm... I do hope you're staying vigilant. Something about him unnerved me besides the usual presence of some higher diety." Odysseus warns, though in the end he knew it wasn't like they could simply wish the problem away.

... Eh. So far he hasn't hurt anyone. And he has a mortal lover so I'm like 90% sure he's harmless.

If he ain't, im fucked cause he knows where I live, and I don't have the power of "I need my wife" to beat a god. . . No... no offense.

"A mortal? Ah... I had no idea. So he is but an inconvenience, then." He hums. "Just remember that you are not defenseless. Sure, perhaps you do not have the same motivation as I do, but you are not a simple mortal either. That magic of yours is powerful. Can be, if you harness it."

*They summon a dagger below them... barely missing their skin but lifting them up by the hood of their shirt, and then giving them time to grab onto it and just stare down at him*

Heheh-! Yep! Speaaaaking of! I have officially gotten through a day of overthinking and DIDN'T stab through any walls or myself! So HAH. I'm learning how to control my curse! No man or god can stop mEEEE-

Odysseus snorted, unable to stop the sound from evolving into a quiet chuckle. "That it can. Who knows, with how often you get yourself into trouble, I may just meet you soon and see that you've been blessed by Aeolus."

Well, recently me and my wife have been looking into adopting, so I probably will get myself in trouble a loooot less....

"Truly? Well, as a mer with four sons and Esmy, do feel like you can talk to me about any concerns you may have. Penelope would love to help as well, should you need it." Odysseus offers. "Have you decided how young you'll be adopting?"

We've done a few interviews, but we don't care how old or young. One boy, around 9, in a month 10 will come over to our home for a few months...

*They summon a dagger, sitting on it, criss cross style*

I've made sure to.. eliminate.. anyone who would hurt him while he is in our home.. luckily, I recently got my government name AFTER I did that, soooo no criminal records!

"Your way of doing things is certainly ... unique." With how easily Icey summoned these cold objects, he was beginning to wonder if they were going to end up much like that strange god he met. Ascend to godhood after death. It wouldn't be too surprising with everything. "Well, do keep me updated. You'll make a good parent, that I do not doubt."

The fact that you fear turning out like them shows you're already better than those mollusks. I may not be a prophet like my lover, but they are blind anyway, and I can see this as clear as a reflection."

Not everyone had bad intentions, and the last thing Odysseus wanted was to accidentally shatter a chance at reconciliation for his son.

The question causes a pause to take Odysseus, a thoughtful expression settling on his face. "It would make no difference to us if that's what you fear. You will always be my son. Even if we do not share the same blood, I will always be here for you as long as you'll allow me to be. Should they not agree, well, there isn't much to be done. But I shall stay regardless of their opinion."

*he hugs his father before they enter the room. Not wanting to let go afraid of what would happen when they walk through those doors. But he was man and no longer a boy, a emperor. The siren keeps a neutral gaze, even when the couples were far less polite. He had learned how to read others after the years he'd spent in his youth following the mannerisms and language of humans. Odd creatures. Unpredictable and complex. Very few were able to hide so openly.

Odysseus placed a hand on Alexander's shoulder, offering him a small comfort in the tense moment. "Apologies, but what were your names?" He poked into the conversation with a polite smile.

Odysseus' shifted form is rarely used nowadays, but its main purpose was honoring his status as a Warrior Of The Mind (similar to how Telemachus gets a blue-themed Athena outfit) Odysseus also had a blue pallete during his earlier years, only wearing the red cloak later on.

I didn't draw this one, but he can be depicted in a purple-leaning color scheme as well. This isn't as common anymore (only now appearing as a hue change in his eyes and not his whole form) as it only happened when he lost focus on a shifted form and got caught between red and blue.

The look Odysseus gave was probably most easily related to a disappointed mother. With a sigh holding the weight of many unspoken words, mostly reprimand, he ran a clawed hand over the side of his face.

"I would say no. Should, really - but believe it or not, I still believe in good hospitality." He moved his hand to gently ruffle Icey's hair. "Yes, you may stay. Though if any of those things end up in my room, I'm sending you to Tiresias myself."

He then pulled his hand back to adjust his cape. "This does give me a chance to ask you about something on my mind, however. There was something - a god, I suppose - that said you spoke of me. Goes by the name Glitch." He paused.

"Does that sound familiar to you?"

“Is it just me, or is seeing an identical you as a siren a little awkward?-”

His gaze lingers on Polites for a moment, almost scrutinizing, before he comes to a conclusion unspoken.

[ when the prophet faced the kingdom of Ithaca again, it was impossible to see all that changed. They knew well that much had, but not enough to know exactly what. [ eventually, under the guise of a traveling oracle—technically not a lie—they got permission to enter the castle. As eager as they were, though, they were hesitant. A kingdom much unlike their own. Unfamiliar, and though they knew someone to trust, how could they ever feel so sure. With one hand reaching for their staff to travel back to their forsaken isle, and the other reaching towards the soft ground to sit, it would be safe to say that they were greatly torn between decisions ]

also also - just a heads up that Penelope and Telemachus have not been written by me nearly enough to have a grasp on their personalities as of yet ^^' that does not mean, however, I'm not gonna try!

Even to the most imperceptive of people, the palace itself was rather quiet; a mix of peace and unease brought about by a paranoid king after his return and the reassurances of his wife. The few guards that were around remained stationed at archways and doors, one of whom couldn't help yawning as the supposed traveling oracle passed by their position.

A light snow continued to fall from outside the windows, bathing the halls in a familiar cold glow from the winter sky. The sun, in all its best efforts, managed to provide brief moments of warmth when its gaze managed to peer past the clouds.

It was only when Tiresias reached for their staff that the prince of Ithaca had spotted them. For a moment, he wondered about leaving them to their thoughts before deciding against the action and instead approaching with near-silent steps; a result that came with the teachings of his mentor.

"Hello there," he called, stopping once he'd reached what he deemed a reasonable distance to the stranger, "are you here in search of someone?"

[ the prophet, unseeing, had no knowledge of the approaching young man. So, when they heard a voice, their immediate reaction was to jump, and reach for their staff to defend themselves with ]

[ however, as the man spoke, the prophet lowered their staff, and their posture relaxed once more ]

“Hello . . . I am, actually. In search of an old friend of mine. I believe he’s supposed to be here. Somewhere.”

"Ah." Telemachus notes the wrapping around the other's eyes and mentally scolds himself for not realizing sooner. He would have made himself more notable to the ear.

Shrugging off the minor guilt, he thinks of who was currently residing in the palace, let alone what of those slim names would know an oracle. In the end, he settles for a simple answer.

"If it's my father, Odysseus, you speak of; he's currently resting. Though if you have a different name, I could help you look for him." He offers.

[ they hum, shifting as though uncomfortable being seen by the eyes of the living ]

“It is your father. I can wait for him, or I can leave, if you’d prefer. I wouldn’t want to overstay my welcome. Besides, your father knows where to find me.”

"You said you're an old friend? Then you must know of my father's hibernation. He won't be awake for a while." Telemachus explains.

"I wouldn't mind helping you get situated in one of the guest rooms if you wish to stay. Or, well, my mother may like to see you. She wouldn't mind the company. If you two have spoken before." He continues, unable to hide the underlying excitement at having the chance to meet an old friend of his father's. He'd only ever heard stories of a few, including Odysseus' brother and sister.

[ the prophet chuckles; had they known? Never. It would’ve been nice to hear. But, then again, it wasn’t too long ago when Tir first explained the habits and traditions of nymphs ]

“I see. Hm. I won’t need much to be situated.”

“I wouldn’t mind speaking to your mother. I don’t believe we’ve spoken in … years. And anyway, once everything’s settled, maybe I can tell you a story or two. I’ve been through enough to fill an entire palace full of stories.”

"I would appreciate that greatly." He smiles. Even if the other can't quite see it, he hopes it comes across in his own voice.

"Are you more comfortable following my steps, or would you prefer a hand?"

Call him childish, but he was certainly excited to hear any tale from the other, hoping that their conversation with his mother wouldn't be too long, though definitely understanding the need for one.

Telemachus wasn't used to many visitors. After just about everything, the palace was shrouded by a feeling of dread. Maybe it was divine, or perhaps the hands of this family carried too much blood that it followed them within the cracks of the foundation.

Stopping in front of the door to his mother's study, the prince paused and turned to face Tiresias once more. "I'm sorry, I just realized I never quite caught your name."

“Tiresias, the Oracle of the kingdom of Thebes. Though, Tir works just as well.”

"Telemachus of Ithaca." He replied politely before opening the door to Penelope's study. The quiet creaking of the door alerted the queen to the presence of two figures, and her gaze was averted from her tome to look at them. "Mother, you have a visitor. This is-"

"Tiresias." Penelope interrupted. She'd consider herself a fool to not recognize the nymph. Even after all these years, she remembered how close her husband and the prophet had been. Just Odysseus' stories would have been enough. "It's been an age since I've seen you, dear."

A little… creature approached the siren. It seemed siren-ish… it had a tail- but also had legs..? Along with sorta wings..? An odd little thing that looked a bit similar to the man, the small feathery appendages along with the tail being a similar color to his own stuff, in a way. Perhaps the small creature was familiar to the man. The small siren held up what seemed to be.. a small piece of chipped wood, seemingly. It had come off of a shipwreck, the little one offered it up to the larger siren, “Bauughh..” it made little noises as if talking up at the man

The siren had been in an unshifted form when the small one approached him. For a moment, he simply observed them, curious and a bit familial. He took a second to glance around, both at the sea and land for any other figures. When none met his attention, he turned back to the little one.

"Is that for me?" Odysseus smiles softly, crouching down to be level with the young creature, using his own tail for balance. With one hand, he reaches out and grabs the piece of scrap wood, not pulling it out of their hold, simply grasping it and tilting his head to look it over. Perhaps it held a story, or maybe it was but a simple plywood. Certainly of decent quality; a trader ship, perhaps?

The little guy- or gal, whatever they were, handed the piece of wood up to him. It really held no significance to them, simply something they found and oddly felt like displaying to the older of its species. The little one stared up at Odysseus with those big eyes, making another noise sounding like no word at all in any language, clearly just the child doing as children do, their eyes staring into Odysseus’ matching red ones.

“Pprrrph?” It was… absolutely terrible to try and understand the child. Clearly they were way too young to be speaking, so it seemed that for now, it would simply just be gibberish from the young creature.

Odysseus couldn't help but chuckle. The sounds were all too familiar, and he found himself giving a soft trill in response. It was a nice sort of change to see another like him, even if somewhat different. It reminded the older siren of his younger self. Though, seeing no others around made him nervous. Were they alone? Had they been for a while?

"How about we get you a room of your own in the palace, hm? Alex will be happy to meet you. All my sons will." The older siren knelt down, opening his arms for the young creature.

The creature made a happy noise at the other creature, pupils going all wide in excitement as they heard the familiar trill, giving one back, mimicking the older one. How could it held that? It’s like a child mimicking something an adult does- actually it was exactly that. The siren welcomed the little creature into his arms, lifting them up as he stood and made sure they were properly held. They made him think of Telemachus when he was younger; trying to copy all the odd sounds of life, though they naturally had an easier time than his son, who was not of the same species.

"I may as well run a daycare." Odysseus shook his head at his own joke, beginning to leave the beach and make his way up to the palace that stood at a vantage point above Ithaca.

MAYBE... tried to freeze the nest.. missed.. and.. now there's a bunch of freaky ass spiders in my apartment, and I wanna humbly request that I stay here til my knight in shining armor killed the demons. And I wanna stay here.. reason why I said not to get mad is cause... there's a 50/50 chance some are here as well.. due to the fact they chase people :D

The look Odysseus gave was probably most easily related to a disappointed mother. With a sigh holding the weight of many unspoken words, mostly reprimand, he ran a clawed hand over the side of his face.

"I would say no. Should, really - but believe it or not, I still believe in good hospitality." He moved his hand to gently ruffle Icey's hair. "Yes, you may stay. Though if any of those things end up in my room, I'm sending you to Tiresias myself."

He then pulled his hand back to adjust his cape. "This does give me a chance to ask you about something on my mind, however. There was something - a god, I suppose - that said you spoke of me. Goes by the name Glitch." He paused.

"Does that sound familiar to you?"

He had been curious in his own time, debating the idea of directly prying into the minds of those claiming to be Alexander's parents, yet not wishing to snap whatever threads of trust there might be between them if these strangers did so happen to be who they claimed. So, he waited.

Not everyone had bad intentions, and the last thing Odysseus wanted was to accidentally shatter a chance at reconciliation for his son.

Father... what if they are genuine? *he asked... to be honest he was more scared of that then of them being fakes... he already had perfectly good parents he didnt need anyone else to come in and come be between them....*

The question causes a pause to take Odysseus, a thoughtful expression settling on his face. "It would make no difference to us if that's what you fear. You will always be my son. Even if we do not share the same blood, I will always be here for you as long as you'll allow me to be. Should they not agree, well, there isn't much to be done. But I shall stay regardless of their opinion."

The siren keeps a neutral gaze, even when the couples were far less polite. He had learned how to read others after the years he'd spent in his youth following the mannerisms and language of humans. Odd creatures. Unpredictable and complex. Very few were able to hide so openly.

Odysseus placed a hand on Alexander's shoulder, offering him a small comfort in the tense moment. "Apologies, but what were your names?" He poked into the conversation with a polite smile.

Zeno was.. well- somewhere. He was just sitting in the grass and grumbling to himself as he scribbled on a worn out paper. Seems the little guy- he was trying to draw? The little guy would be lying if he said the concept of a ‘family’ didn’t confuse him. Yes, he’s referred to Achaeus and Lune as his siblings, but he never quite.. understood what family meant. It was only a vague concept in his mind.

He was trying to draw- little guy didn’t know what he was doing, but he heard it’s normal for kids or something, he didn’t like the word ‘normal’ regardless. Everything in his life was odd at this point, he barely understood this world anymore… maybe it’s not so bad. Maybe this “family” helped? He just made a little hum to himself, not noticing the other presence nearby. He was too busy trying to figure out how to shove more figures onto the paper, he was trying to figure out where to draw Alex’s parents.

The old king did not hate his palace, but more often than not, he could not resist the call from the outside. Nature reminded him of a friend, as the sea reminded him of his brother. Curious to the faint sounds of scribbling upon parchment, he wandered over to the kid and tilted his head to gaze down at the drawing.

"What are you making there, Zeno?" He wondered, sitting by his side and looking over the details of the figures. He'd learned, as the older brother to an aspiring artist, how to see the small features and how they pieced together.

It was one time he was thankful for being rather short. "My sister used to do the same thing. Kept the hobby, I believe ... Do you want to describe it to me?" He offers.
