The best thing about Jesus is that when you’re at your worst, He doesn’t walk away. He stays and doesn’t give up on you.

i will never accept the sound of my recorded voice
Brah help me. I got really into fitness since 2 months but my family is constantly criticizing me. I showed them a pic of a woman with a huge squat butt and a nice waist and they were mocking me because it's uggly and not "natural". It pisses me off because my butt is also big and round and I'll never have such a small butt like other women. Why do people try to change others? I'm really pissed off. Any motivational stories of your site? Je corridor, gotta train that bum.
You already know what you gotta do: follow your heart.
People will always tell you thing like “it’s too much”, “it’s not natural”, “it doesn’t look good”. As surprising as it may sound, this will mostly come from your surroundings: family / close friends.
You can’t fix it, most people will always judge you for what you do. They don’t really care if you feel happy doing it or not.
My advice: simply avoid fitness conversations with them. If they try to talk about it, simply change subject.
Keep this to yourself, keep grinding. It’s your life, do what makes you feel happy and let others do the talking instead of focusing on what makes them happy.

A lot of people ask me what my biggest fear is, or what scares me most. And I know they expect an answer like heights, or closed spaces, or people dressed like animals, but how do I tell them that when I was 17 I took a class called Relationships For Life and I learned that most people fall out of love for the same reasons they fell in it. That their lover’s once endearing stubbornness has now become refusal to compromise and their one track mind is now immaturity and their bad habits that you once adored is now money down the drain. Their spontaneity becomes reckless and irresponsible and their feet up on your dash is no longer sexy, just another distraction in your busy life. Nothing saddens and scares me like the thought that I can become ugly to someone who once thought all the stars were in my eyes.
this fucks me up every single time
I never expected this to be my most popular poem out of the hundreds I’ve written. I was extremely bitter and sad when I wrote this and I left out the most beautiful part of that class.
After my teacher introduced us to this theory, she asked us, “is love a feeling? Or is it a choice?” We were all a bunch of teenagers. Naturally we said it was a feeling. She said that if we clung to that belief, we’d never have a lasting relationship of any sort.
She made us interview a dozen adults who were or had been married and we asked them about their marriages and why it lasted or why it failed. At the end, I asked every single person if love was an emotion or a choice.
Everybody said that it was a choice. It was a conscious commitment. It was something you choose to make work every day with a person who has chosen the same thing. They all said that at one point in their marriage, the “feeling of love” had vanished or faded and they weren’t happy. They said feelings are always changing and you cannot build something that will last on such a shaky foundation.
The married ones said that when things were bad, they chose to open the communication, chose to identify what broke and how to fix it, and chose to recreate something worth falling in love with.
The divorced ones said they chose to walk away.
Ever since that class, since that project, I never looked at relationships the same way. I understood why arranged marriages were successful. I discovered the difference in feelings and commitments. I’ve never gone for the person who makes my heart flutter or my head spin. I’ve chosen the people who were committed to choosing me, dedicated to finding something to adore even on the ugliest days.
I no longer fear the day someone who swore I was their universe can no longer see the stars in my eyes as long as they still choose to look until they find them again.
This is so fucking important and I think it’s something I needed right now
Do it for the right reasons
Fitness has become a huge part of our lives. Some people just started their journey and feel completely lost and it’s fine.
You probably started fitness because you wanted to get strong for your future boxing match, or because your belly is too big, or simply because you want to get over a break up.
At the end of the day, this reason is your goal and nobody will judge you for it. But keep in mind that you should never do something to please other people. Because when it will become hard, you’ll give up.
Never look for approval. Pleasing others will lead you nowhere in life. Have a purpose in life and go after it. I prefer someone who tells me “bro, I love boxing, without it I feel empty” than someone who says “my friends told me I’m too skinny, so I decided to go to the gym”.
If you’re overweight or skinny, it doesn’t change you as a person. Your past/current state doesn’t matter, because you will become someone better.
As long as you’re doing it for yourself, you will get stronger physically and mentally. You will slowly build habits that will take a big part of your life. Define a final goal and work on small commitments on a weekly basis, that’s the best way to achieve.
“You don’t set out to build a wall. You don’t say ‘I’m going to build the biggest, baddest, greatest wall that’s ever been built.’ You don’t start there. You say, ‘I’m going to lay this brick as perfectly as a brick can be laid. You do that every single day. And soon you have a wall.” – Will Smith

if you miss someone who does not miss you, or who is no good for you, or is unattainable, take all the love you once felt for them and spread it around other places. put your love in worthwhile people and things, turn the romance in to passions for hobbies or admiration for others- enrich your own life. focus on yourself and those who actively make you happy.
