UMMMMM Y’ALL in ALL the things in Fruits Basket: Another that I thought would make me cry, seeing Akito being a good Mum whose son loves her with his whole heart was NOT one of them!!!

I am just so emotional right now? Tohru teaching Akito and Shiki clapping games, because no one bothered to play with Akito when she as a child? The parallels we’re given between Akito and Kyoko in terms of discovering more about herself and the world through parenthood?

Shigure and Akito reading bedtime stories to Shiki, and trying to give him the warm loving parents that they never had? How wholesome and comfortable they look all tucked up in bed together? How soft Shigure looks in a Tshirt with a picture book?

Seeing Akito discovering the world for the first time AS a parent? Building snow men and eating crepes and playing in autumn leaves? How she’s experiencing what ACTUAL unconditional love feels like?

I’m just… she’s being such a great Mum and you can tell that by the way Shiki talks about her and how confused and upset he is when he hears people constantly talking about how she will never be able to atone for her sins?

I’m just… and over in ANIME LAND we’re going to be SEEING those terrible awful sins that are hard to ever forgive and overcome but… I’m just ????

This chapter of Another just hit me with SO many feelings I was never expecting and GOD everything in this series is so COMPLICATED and EMOTIONAL!!!! I never expected to cry over AKITO but HERE I AM??!!!

Although Ren and Sawa’s Mum really CAN go eat Dirt!!!
