Fucking love how both Rui and Tsukasa struggle with miscommunication. Tsukasa won’t reach out, and Rui won’t either, but they both want to. Tsukasa doesn’t want to be alone, and he rushes to grab Rui’s hand on All In One, but gets interrupted before he does so by his own thoughts. Rui wants to show he cares, but is afraid to bother him. Despite reaching his hand, he won’t insist because it’s safer to keep the relationship stable, than to address the issue and possibly risk losing Tsukasa by getting him angry. In doing so, they both almost lose their friendship.

sorry asahi brained again. im thinking about his wanting. he wants. people to belong to so badly. he sees wansho and yearns. he YEARNS! HE WANTS FRANDSHIP, HE WANTS LOVE... he wants IN... he has people who admire him but who is he to them? do they think of him as a friend? ok this is not really based on anything i dont think but i would love that my brain expands on him more. seperation from his family when he was young, how would that affect him? how would that give him fear? fear of losing those he loves and who love him? fear of losing what he isn't sure he has outside of his family?

I’m starting to think Bless and William might have also been Rui’s self inserts.

I’m not gonna talk about William but I’ll talk about Bless.

Bless was a happy, cheerful and charming prince before he got cursed with despair.

I feel like Bless before getting cursed was a symbolisation of Rui being ‘happy’ and enthusiastic as a child before a ‘curse’ struck him making him sad and in despair.

Bless after the curse could’ve been middle school Rui and thanks to the World Link, we might actually have some connections.

Bless’s curse broke when the light from the audience came into view, that people were still there. People still care, still love their shows.

Whilst obviously, that scene was mainly because Tsukasa got too engrossed in his role. I also think that scene was written to show that once Rui started doing shows with WonderShow, he felt happier and that he could be seen as something human, someone that can be loved.

( If you ask why I put quotations between describing little Rui as happy, it’s because…well. I do not think he was the happiest. He got bullied and called a weirdo and a freak back then too so…you know. )

( Not me saying he wasn’t happy btw, but, he certainly wasn’t the happiest. )

this might be cringe but project sekai really DID change people’s lives for the better. because at the root of all these different characters and storylines, they’re all teenagers trying to find their way through life and accomplishing their dreams, and that’s fucking inspiring. especially in a mental health epidemic where so many kids are severely depressed or struggling with mental health, having fictional teenagers who have similar experiences or problems and having them be resolved can be so reassuring. not only the kids too, but the adults can relate to with some of the material that PJSK’s covering. there’s something so special about the fact that a rhythm game about hatsune miku has garnered such a special community when it comes to the characters and how they go about their lives as they try to grow as people and improve and have such complex relationships and motivations. ive met so many people, especially on tumblr, who have a connection to one of the pjsk characters and its so amazing to see especially since they love that character so much. im kind of rambling but i just think PJSK gave so many people an outlet and a chance to see themselves in a variety of situations and characters, or just an escapism to see characters that you love and care for succeed even after obstacles. im lucky i get to be a part of such an incredible community, and im lucky i was introduced to my favorite character since she’s become such an important part of my life and inspiration for me to grow and improve too.
