Percy Jackson | Timetravel - fix-it
They won. That was the first cohorrent thought Percy had while he regained his bearings after the battle aginst Gaia. The second one was Annabeth.
He looked around but all he saw was monsterdust and bodies everywhere. Panic started to creep up in him. Where was she?
He searched for hours and hours, getting worse with each dead friend he found.
First was Piper, spear in her rips.
Then Jason, eyes on Piper, even in death.
Hazel and Frank, both with arrows through their hearts.
Leo, atop of Festus, a flame still burning in his hair.
Nico, all alone surrounded by golden dust and corpses.
But no Annabeth. He didn't know what to think about that. He went on searching. Camp was next but all he found was slaughter. He still doesn't know how but they got through the borders. Thalias' pine tree was burning with Peleus dead next to it.
On his way through Camp he found even more people, people whose lifeless eyes shouldn't have looked like this for another 30 years.
Will Solace in front of the Infirmary, Katie Gardner, Travis and Conner Stoll, Chris Rodriguez, Clarrisse...
And in front of the big house he found her.
She was unharmed but also grinning like a madwoman.
'Isn't it beautiful, Perseus? So much destruction because of you. So much death to break one single hero.' She started laughing like crazy before falling to the ground like a dead weight
Percy didn't go near her, she was dead so what even mattered anymore? However the last words Gaia threw at him through Annabeth were scarily true.
It was his fault. Everyone was dead because of him. His fatal flaw was eating him alive, guilt cursing through his veins like poison.
He couldn't let this happen. He had to protect them, to save them. He would find a way.
He went to the gods. 'There's only one way', they told him. 'You'll have to give up everything.'
'What do I have left?' The broken look in his eyes makes even Aphrodite look away. 'I'll do it.'
So all the eldest gods channeled the bit of time, of Kronos in them and gave it up to grant their hero his last wish. To fix everything.
He woke up in a body that wasn't his, in a bed he didn't know. However he still knew where he was. Hermes cabin.
On silent feet he went over to the bathroom and looked into the mirror. The face that looked back wasn't his. It was Luke Castellans.
Over the years he played his part well. Nobody noticed the change, not even his Annabeth. He longed to tell her but he couldn't. No one can ever know who he is.
When 'Percy Jackson', the 12-year old version of him arrived at camp he swore to himself that the boy would never have to go through what he went through.
He fooled Kronos, made him believe Luke Castellan was his faithful servant.
The shoes Percy received for his first quest sadly were lost before he entered the underworld.
He just barely missed the halfbloods as they brought the fleece to camp.
Annabeth never fell of the cliff. Luke held sky until Percy got Atlas back under it.
Percy never fought against the Giant in the labyrinth. They never even saw any of Kronos' forces.
There was no battle at camp because of the entrance to the labyrinth.
In the final war it was only Titans against Gods. No demigod died, apart from Luke that is. He gave up his life to kill Kronos, just like the original Luke.
But before that he told them of Gaia so they'd be prepared. He told them they had to unite the camps. He told them which unclaimed demigods were Romans and would be best at working out a peace. He told them to care about their kids and the minor gods.
He gave up his life and went to Elysium but nobody was waiting for him. His Annabeth isn't dead, she doesn't even exist. The seven don't know him. Nico never met him.
Percy Jackson, Hero of Olympus, slayer of Titans and Giants, gave up his life and everything he had to save his friends.
Seems like loyalty really is fatal in the end.
