Compared to others the Legacy cliffhanger was pretty… tame? And I think it’s because we know what’s coming at the beginning of the next book. Nothing earth-shattering has been introduced yet, there’s just the promise that it will be introduced in the future. Books 4–7 all ended on a gutpunch cliffhanger (Prentice is awake! Alvar has amnesia! Sophie is unmatchable!) whereas the Legacy cliffanger was more of like what happens at the end of a movie where someone is about to find out something important and the music does a big dramatic swell and then it ends
