What if u were hanging out with a witch and she wanted to go inside the village witch's house but shit started going bad immediately and you had to get the fuck OUT of there with her on your shoulder?
(And what if there was a Beast while all of this shit was going down?)
Cool kids listen to the Amateur Nerd’s Wildcat Minute podcast, and then get overly invested in the “DCOM of the Week” Segment (Something they do every other episode where one person shares the title and some actors for a Disney Channel Original Movie, and the other has to guess based just on that information what it’s about).
Basically on episode #64 they had to guess what the movie “Gotta Kick it Up” was about, and their imaginary version was a touching tale of girls starting a soccer team. That’s high-key NOT what the movie is actually about, so since their imagined version does not exist I thought I’d make some fanart to make it exist a bit more:
^Those are the main stars of the movie, with the two in the center being the best friends who want to become soccer stars together
I don’t even watch movies but I was listening to the 9th episode of Wildcat Minute (A podcast from the Amateur Nerds where two people discuss High School Musical one minute at a time, one of them having never seen it before) and they brought up the concept of goth Ryan Evans.
I’m in love with that concept: Ryan decides he’s had enough of being a prep and just goes full goth as his rebellion.
(More complete transcription of the section that inspired this under the cut)
Chandra: This is a small snapshot of the social groups of East High in this minute. We’re gonna definitely see more of them as the movie progresses, but unfortunately (and I will spoil this now) goths are underrepresented in this.
Tyler: Aw man.
Chandra: As a for-... as a current and former goth myself: They are underrepresented.
Tyler: You almost said “former goth,” you almost let yourself off the hook.
Chandra: It’s fine.
Tyler: Yeah, get- let’s get goths in High School- I would love if one of the characters turned into a goth. Who among the main six would turn into a goth?
Chandra: Oh gosh, um... I feel like, Taylor, probably? Or Ryan! I would love it if Ryan did, oh my god that’d be my favorite thing.
I’m currently reading a fantastic My Hero Academia fic by the name of Dragon Fruit (By @forthewoolfy ForTheWoolfy and @standard-fiendart). It’s a fantasy au where Aizawa is a dragon hunter and Hizashi is a bard cursed to turn into a dragon. There’s several written-out lyrics for Hizashi’s songs that have such PERFECT syllabic structure that even just reading it feels musical. The latest chapter I felt deeply compelled to do a quick recording of an adaptation. Lyrics (from the fic) beneath the cut
When my lover was a dancer, her skin was sweet as dew,
Her feet would waltz to daisy hop, her eyes were ashen blue.
When first we met I was entranced, her charm so fair of face,
When next we met I was in love, my heart a stallion’s pace.
The tendril grasses of our home, swept cleanly through the air,
As did her skirts and legs and lace, when other men would stare.
When my lover was a dancer, she kept the brothels whole,
While all the men who came for her, would taste my darling doll.
She gave to me her loving voice, and filled my life with song,
Swore to love me with her smile, yet she had done me wrong.
When my lover was a dancer, her skin was sweet as dew,
Now she sleeps beneath the dirt, her eyes a hollowed hue.
Nuli and Agasha discover that making out in a closet to be discreet doesn’t work if they’re so loud that Viktoria goes to check in on the noise.
These characters are from my friend @eldritchhedgehog‘s novel-in-progress, Northbound, about some recent graduates accused of murder who end up on a journey to escape the cops and clear their name.
@eldritchhedgehog sent me a picture of the shirt and hat here, referred to it as a “Ness” look, and I knew what I had to do.
These characters are from eldritchhedgehog’s latest project, Deliverance Rock. Left is Mora, eccentric novelist-framed-murderer, and to the right is Ness, fisherwoman. The novel is still in the early stages, so I don’t know them very well yet, but I craved this content.
Family portrait of Raven’s (living) family! I can’t imagine how Raven feels, from being told half-immortals can’t have children most his life to discovering a distant descendant, direct daughter, and adopted son within a day... (Just realized: That makes Diane basically Noah’s sister??? What?? And Susan sort-of basically a sister as well?)
This is a pretty emo family, upon looking closer (Noah, do you keep an emo fringe to emulate Raven?). I hope they get a chance to properly bond and interact eventually in the story.

“Oh, now what would your elders say to that?” she returned. “Not falling into a life of sin, are we?”
“Simply seeing all the city has to offer,” he said evenly, taking the lead and twirling her around into a passable dip. “Who knows? Maybe our elders don’t quite know everyth—”
He stopped, and froze mid-dip, so that Avery was left hanging off his neck a bit. “You okay?” she asked warily, noting the look of nervousness on his face before flipping her head back to see just what he was staring at. Ah—the upside-down yet imperious looking John Shepherd might’ve stopped her in her tracks too.
...That feeling when your mortal enemy catches you dancing with (and subtly corrupting) his son.
Avery Antonoff, Elijah and John Shepherd from @eldritchhedgehog‘s work: Alternatives.
Fan PV of @eldritchhedgehog‘s project, tentatively called Alternatives!
AKA what happens when I get a windows computer and want to see how much I can do with free video editing software.
Also I started working on this before some of the concepts/concept art had been worked out, so some of it might look a bit different than @eldritchhedgehog decided on. Whoops!
It’s ya gurl Corazón, from @eldritchhedgehog‘s book, The Heart of San Lueva!
I feel like she’s always the type to wear layers, but when it’s the desert and you’re working with hot robots at home there are times when you gotta go for the tank top.
OT3 from El Goonish Shive! Since Tedd will be working in a lab, Sarah is using an introduction as an excuse to try on Tedd’s glasses (honestly, Sarah needs to be stopped when it comes to glasses).
Grace in the back noting how nice Sarah looks in Tedd’s glasses.
