How does the rental/passes work on kakaopage? I live in the US and am trying to read the gsgw manhwa (peak by the way) and can’t figure out how this works TwT

The website didn’t help a lot and the app being half translated made me more confused-

I’ve seen people say you may need a Korean SIM card??? (That could be wrong I’m sorry) it’s confusing me and I just want to figure out how to read more chapters.

I know some novel sites have daily passes, is that the case? This could be a case of me not reading the right thing or not looking hard enough but I don’t want to restore to pirating it if it’s possible for me to support it.
