Not being able to arrest him might not be ideal, but the family having the right killer proven should still mean something, even if the killer is already dead. It’s not the best kind of closure, but it’s more that a lot of people get. Some people never see the killer even rightly identified.

Is that so? I don’t know what US prisons are like when defined as a ‘shithole,’ but if it’s anything like where my father some of the Kovalesky’s men in Russia went they deserve it.

[pm] Seems to think it’ll help him with cases. But it won’t. An officer of the law can’t do fuck all with that information. You build a case on admissible evidence, reasonable suspicion, reliable testimony. Those sources, so far as the system’s concerned, they don’t offer up any of that. Maybe he’ll have a better idea of what’s gone on, or he’ll think he does, anyway. Still won’t have a case. Still won’t be able to solve a damn thing, on the books or off. 

It’ll mean a hell of a lot, I’m sure. All that, and the knowledge that whoever’s responsible isn’t still out there, coming for them or anybody else. 

One of the worst I’ve seen the inside of, at least. The supermax, isolation, especially. They’ve had a good few rounds in there.

I do like the outdoors! I grew up with a deep respect for nature. I like the forests near here, though. They’re a lot more crowded than I would like It seems a lot of other people like them too.

He’s not mine, not properly. But I’ve been looking after him for about five months or so. Since his owner moved away. 

Nick. Nice to meet you, Thalia. I  just transferred in last fall, myself. So long enoug not all that long. 

They’re pretty well popular, yeah. With all sorts of critters. If you’re ever looking to get away, Gulf Hagas is worth the drive. Cutler Coast and Quoddy Head are fine, too, and closer - about an hour or so northeast of here. Great views, swell for kayaking, that kind of thing.
