Live your life that the fear of death can never enter your heart,
Trouble no man about his religion,
respect others in thier veiws and demand that they respect yours,
Love your life. Perfect your life. Beautify all things in your life,
Seek to make your life long and of service to your people,
When your time comes to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with fear of death,
So that when thier time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live thier lives over in a diffrent way,
SING YOUR DEATH SONG, AND DIE LIKE A HERO GOING HOME
Lost track of what day it is.
Today was not a good day. We lost a warrior. An American. A Leader. A father, a husband, a son and a friend. Shot in the back by people we are tryin to help. Another soldier was wounded. Shot in the back of the head. The wounded soldier's helmet was able to stop most of the impact thankfully. The soldier who lost his life was shot in the back by a coward. He was a warrior that deserved to die like the warrior that he was. On the field of battle, surrounded by the bodies of his fallen enemies and the spent casings of his M4. Instead he died in a country that hates him. Hates his sacrifice. Hates everything he stood for. These people have no integrity. No honor. Thier culture exists to consume and demolish other cultures. I'm not just talkin about Afghans. Im talkin about Islamic culture as a whole. We aren't just fighting Afghans here. We did a battle damage assessment the other day of 14 enemies that were killed. Thorough examination proved that all 14 were from 3 seperate countries. Iran, Pakistan and Syria. Y'all dont realize that were are fighting a war against and entire culture of people. A culture that wants nothing more than to destroy our way of life. To kill as many Americans as they can. Whatever way they can. These are the kinds of people that Democrats want to open our borders to. Just so y'all know.
Day 40
Drills, drills, drills and more drills. The sun bakes down. 120 degrees again. Sweating so much that we continuously hydrate. Pounding water. My squad is looking better. Making small mistakes. They are young but they are learning fast. Now rest time. Time to watch 300.
So here is my baby. I'm not selling her. But she's gonna have some competition now.
This is the Beast I'm gonna buy.
Day 39
Well another day in paradise. It was only 125 in paradise today. There wasnt much that happened in terms of Army shit. The same monotonous routine that has been the last 8 yrs of my life. Running around in full gear. Training on endless scenarios. Honestly y'all might think I hate it, but I love the routine. I really do. BUT. And its a big BUT. I have recently decided to upgrade my truck. Thats a pretty big deal for me. I've been driving around my 69 Chevy pickup for 10 years. Its about time. I'm pretty damn excited, I'll tell you what. I'll post some pictures of the beast im gonna buy when I get home. Hard to believe its gonna set me back 55 grand, but hey. That's life.
Day 38
Soo once again im writing from a vast desert thousands of miles east of everything. It was about 120 degrees today. So hot that when you walk outside you turn into a puddle of sweat. Not to mention your 60 lbs of body armor, 5 lb enhanced combat helmet, and 6 pounds of M4. Pressed steel that turns into a 200 degree stove top in the sun. Anyway i digress. The highlight of my day was playing poker with one of the lower enlisted men in my squad. Now being from texas, I played a lot of Texas Hold'em in my lifetime. This kid just wasn't ready. No holds barred savagery. The soldier is from Colorado. He just didnt grow up like I did. Growing up on a ranch we would work before sun up and wouldn't come in until after sundown. We take our relaxing time serious. When we play poker it is serious. He just wasn't prepared. Poor kid.
Someone told me to post a photo with my face. Here y'all are.
Day 37
Well, it was about 120 degrees today. To my one follower, Hello. Haha. Luckily today was a lazy day. Tryin to stay outta the heat and tryin not to lose my mind. I think this is my first official "blog"? I guess its ok to talk even if no one is listenin. The most productive thing that I did today was go and pick up a can of dip. God Bless Copenhagen. Also looks like we are movin again. Leave it to the Army to never let you get unpacked. I think one savin grace right now is that i don't have to do any laundry. The locals do it for us. I tell ya I'd be lost if i had to figure out how to use that damn machine. This deployment is turning out a lot diffrent than my last deployment. Movin a lot more. Unfortunately that gives the Taliban more chances to shoot at me. Now don't get me wrong. I love a good firefight. As an 11B(Infantryman) it's basically what I live for but I'll tell ya right now from 8 yrs experience. When Bullets fly, people die. Bad guys and Good Guys. My dudes are real young and I hope i get a little more time to teach em up before we start slingin lead. They're good boys, just real young and fresh. 3 men not over 20 yet. God Bless em.
Well. I started this Blog as a Deployment blog. Buddy of mine says it takes up some time and keeps your mind off stuff we do over here. So to my 1 follower( I think i have 1) Here goes Nothin
