So uh, life update?

Basically, I’m too sick to work my actual full-time job right now. I’m a brand new union electrical apprentice. I just started in July. I fucking love my job. I miss working.

I physically cannot work right now because of uncontrollable swelling in my legs/feet. I was just diagnosed with a kidney disease called FSGS (look it up, it’s kind of hard to explain?) They don’t know what caused it in my case, and they’re talking about doing like, genetic testing to see if that has anything to do with it.

I’ve been out of work already for like, 3-4 weeks total, and I have no clue when I will be well enough to go back. It all kind of depends on how my body responds to treatment.

I JUST got a new car a few months ago because I needed one to get to and from work, and my payment wasn’t a problem because I was making like, $380 a week.

I also JUST got a new puppy, who needs all of her shots, flea/tick collar, etc. and I have like, zero money.

I know things are hella tight for everyone right now in COVID times, but I’m looking for any way I can to make a little extra money so I don’t have to like scam the government and hope I don’t get caught, because I’m pretty much fucked otherwise.

So uh, hit me up if you want nasty, kinky, smutty, gorey whatever fics written? I’ve got nothing better to do in my time right now when I need to keep my feet up, and any amount would be helpful. I’ve never really done this whole thing before, but I figured it’s worth a shot.

Blaze cocks his head, staring at his little human with a bewildered expression on his face. “Have you even slept at all yet? You’re talking crazy again.” He shakes his head at her words, grabbing her up in his arms and crushing her against his chest. “Bed. Now. You can get back to your work in a few hours.”

The human makes a swipe for her Mothman coffee mug and misses as she’s effortlessly scooped up by her mate.

“Oh come on! I could totally make that happen!” She whined. “A little fire resistance charm with a something not other to make the oxygen regenerate so I could breathe and we could be banging away inside of a pyre and be legendary. Legendary.”

She sits up after being deposited on the soft mattress they shared. “Best part? Nobody, not even the cardinals, can be mad about it because it cranks Copia’s boring Asmodeus sermon up to eleven.”

“Look, if you want me to fuck you, you don’t have to come up with some crazy idea to convince me. Just sit in my lap and kiss me for a little while, or something.” The Ghoul chuckles, popping her down into their large bed. He pushes her down with a hand on her shoulder as she tries to sit up again, then moves to lay down beside her.

His tail drapes across her slender form as he curls into her, pinning her under one of his strong arms so she couldn’t wiggle away as easily. Sleep. His little human needed sleep. She had been working non-stop on something for days, and had done nothing more than chug coffee and house a few bags of chips. He worried when she got so obsessed with her work like this. “So not only do you want me to fuck you in a raging fire, but you want me to do it in front of the whole church? Yeah... Time for bed, baby. You’re losing it.”

“Hey now, I’m just trying to be inventive! Maybe a lil’ spicy.” Cora snorted, settling in when she realized there was no escape. Blaze was warm and soothing and the human did feel herself winding down as the caffeine was worked out of her system.

The project she’s been working on for the past couple of days was... inconsequential at best, more of a diversionary tactic than anything. If you don’t sleep, you don’t dream.

“Justin don’t let me sleep too long, okay?”

He knew, of course, that she was only trying to avoid sleeping because of the nightmares that seemed to eternally plague her in the darkness; even if he was holding tightly onto her. The Ghoul gently stroked his fingers through her hair, pushing it from her face as he gazed down at her. He gave her a soft smile as she used his human name; a special thing that only she still did, and only when they were alone.

“You need the sleep, baby. Now hush. I’m here. Nothing can hurt you.” He mumbles softly to her, kissing her tenderly before he settled down himself. He wasn’t tired, so he simply lay in the dim room, stroking his fingers down her back to soothe her to sleep.

Minutes passed in the Fire ghoul’s embrace and before long Cora had drifted into sleep. She slept quietly for about two hours or so, nestled tight against Blaze’s chest.

Once she was truly deep asleep was when the problems started. The human tensed up, drawing herself in tight to herself. Soft noises of discontent escaped as she squirmed. In the dream she was stuck in a room that was filling with black ichor and no way out.

Outside the dream however, visions of people standing in the bedroom flashed in and out of view. Ghosts covered in blood and grime paced around the room, growing more solid and concrete the longer the witch was in the dream.

After some time, the Ghoul calmed himself enough to fall asleep as well, his head resting against the top of Cora’s. She started to squirm in his grasp, balling up beside him, and causing him to stir. His eyes flickered open slightly, catching sight of a shimmering form fluttering across the edge of the bed. Just as quickly as it was there, it was gone.

Blaze couldn’t see the ghosts as Cora could, but he had become adept at sensing them when they were around. The air was colder; icy, and felt thin. He gently grasped for one of her shoulders, shaking her in an attempt to rouse her. “Cora. Cora, my love.” He murmurs, shaking her again.

Their nights had all been like this for weeks. Neither slept for too long before Cora either woke from a nightmare, or woke him up from her squirming about. He wanted more than anything to help his mate, but didn’t even know where to start.

“Cora, it’s just a dream. It’s only a dream, my darling. Wake up. Come back to me.”
