A collaboration painting by myself and Lofi! I surely like to take everything into account. I have an affinity for the many branches of science; I just like to learn. The Zora have always fascinated me, so with this last release and the whole Zora+Hylian happening, their biological nature became important.

I roughly sketched this after some research and brief study of sharks. I blended both human and shark anatomy to give Sidon a somewhat logical inner system.

Another thing I noticed is that Sidon is the only Shark type among the Zora. While he has a vertical tailfin on his head, the rest have an horizontal one and no dorsal fin. When it comes to his genitalia, I decided to go the shark way. However, as zoras appear to be nude ingame, I decided to give them inset parts (similar to cats). As for the ingame Zora design, they are a mix of OoT and TP. In the first one’s arwork, the zora appear with their nose and forheads merging into one. On the second, they have the fins that fall beside their faces and a marked division between the nose/head and face. Now, they feature this plus colorful scales. Oddly enough The King, Sidon, and Mipha appear to be different types of fish (Whale, Shark, “Dolphin” [similar but inaccurate]). It surprises me how they didn’t go for a larger selection of fish to give the Zora more patterns retaled to nature, but then again, cloning models decreases the space they take in the cartridge’s data.
