Hot take (maybe):

Mark crashout isn’t a crashout BUT POTENTIAL INTO HIS CHARACTER.

He genuinely had everyone, EVEN REV, that he was actually angry. Even if Wendy didn’t take him that seriously, it was obvious she believed that he was enraged.

In addition, Mark loves theater despite his father’s disapproval, which was mentioned in the last episode of season 1. That’s actually what had him connecting g with Harrah.

it’s obvious that Mark is the black sheep of his family judging from how one of the staff members form the Dracula family seems to constantly say negative comments. In addition, he consistently mentions his family life (neurodivergent Mark is so real/canon) and he always tries to “fit in”

Finally, Mark has mentioned that he has been through a similar situation as Rev was in episode. It could be seen as Mark experiencing “homesickness” as that’s what he “assumed” Rev had, but I don’t think that’s the case. In the last episode, Mark reveals in HIS CRASHOUT THAT THE SCHOOL ALLOWS HIM TO BE HIMSELF.

But that’s not all, I don’t just think Mark had been in the same boat as Rev, BUT I KNOW THAT MARK KNEW REV WAS/HAD BEEN IN THE SAME BOAT AS HIM.

It’s so clear that Mark is somewhat socially aware, but he doesn’t act like it, atleast, not on the surface.

Sure, Mark has shown times where he wasn’t socially aware like in episode 2 when he says “what are friend for” after getting Rev’s amulet stuck on Raven.

But then I thought about it, I mean, the whole episode was mainly about Mark trying to keep Raven alive. Why would he do that if Rev doesn’t care about her, why promise that when Rev wouldn’t care anyways?

That’s where I believe Mark knew something, knew that Rev cared about Raven more then he let on.

In addition; Mark used strategies to help ground a person from committing suicide such as relating to the person, keeping promises, etc. that promise was specifically to keep Raven alive for the whole day…

But why?

I mean, why would he keep reviving a DEAD CAT when he can so clearly just threaten to not revive her and possibly get him home. Why would he waste his time doing it when he can focus on anything else?!

That’s what I think Mark picked up on, and he even said that he knew that Rev kept reviving Raven because he was homesick- or in how I think he was trying to say- lonely.

Being homesick is an emotional distress caused by being away from home, often leading to sadness, anxiety, and loneliness

This is all I have to really say but in short: REV BETTER MAKE MARK MORE COMPLEX OR ELSE IT’LL BREAK MY DAMN HEART

YOU GET IT. you're so right. bc mark DEFINITELY knows way more than he lets on, why he chooses not to show it i don't know yet but he's obviously not as dumb as people might THINK he is. and like anon said, at KADE mark feels like he can be himself, but perhaps some part of him still unconsciously masks his emotions, like he could've possibly done at home?? I have totally fallen in love with your Race Against Tim AU! I find this concept really interesting, and I'm excited to see what direction you take Lukas. (LOVE the fact that he's the mc instead of Jesse. It makes it feel fresh and less predictable if that makes sense?)

also yea i chose to make him the mc because i've seen a lot of jesse focused aus, and while that's fine bc i LOOOVEEEEEE jesse, i love lukas even more! and i think it'd be interesting to explore his mindset, how he thinks and how he tries to get out of this mess yk??

but anyways, yes! i do have a few fun facts!!

- petra and lukas are siblings. not blood related, but they trust each other SO much that they decided that their bond is far beyond just "best friends." there will be moments where their bond is focused on, too!

- the au will be (hopefully) posted as a fic! i am a VERY slow writer though, so the updates will be slow, but i do have a few chapters already planned out!! not only that, but i will draw some moments from it, and make animations. i got sooo many ideas... (probably TOO much. i don't know how i'm gonna do it with all the other projects i have already 😭😭)

- the entire group (so jesse, lukas, petra, olivia and axel) will be talked about, so don't worry olivia and axel fans, your faves WILL get their time to shine too!! i've always hated the fact that they aren't focused on that much (especially in canon), and considering that they are jesse's best friends but never... interact?? much beyond the wither storm arc, i was disappointed. BUT!! in this au i will make sure to give each of them a chance, with my own hcs sprinkled in of course

- dewey will make an appearance too!! can't forget the lil guy

that's about how much i think i can share without spoiling it too much.. but!! the new comic is almost complete! i just need to find the time to finish it........

A Raid Party that got tricked into following the Hero through a Nether Portal. The Hero had the portal destroyed on the way out, and the party has been trapped ever since.
