Random Headcanon #32

Joey naturally gravitates towards the girls when out and about. He can’t help it. He was raised with his helping his sisters and mom, so sticking around the women in his life is second nature.

The guys just think it’s because Joey likes women, which he does, but Joey’s completely unaware he even does this.

This has the undesired effect of when Phoebe is flirting with the cute produce guy and Joey comes up, sulking about how she disappeared and that all the tomatoes at the store suck.

He’ll wander into Monica’s apartment, accidentally jump scaring her. She yelled at him the first few months about privacy and burglars, but gave up. Most of the time he just sits somewhere doing his own thing anyways.

He’ll just casually stands by Rachel on the subway, looking like a grumpy body guard because he’s tired, and Rach is SO not intimidated by him anymore. Everyone else is though.

Random Headcanon #31

Monica and Joey are actually half-siblings, but absolutely nobody knows. Not even their parents. Monica's mom had a one night stand with Joey's dad years ago.

Joey isn't sure why he had the instinctual urge to annoy Monica, or why Monica had an urge to both bother and protect Joey. It just felt right. They always write it off when somebody says they look alike, or think they're related.

It's just a coincidence that they have the same hair color, the same smile, the same love of food, and the same blood type...

Random Headcanon #30

Not following authority is the group's biggest flaw. Monica and Ross always think their right, so struggle with chains of command. Phoebe is too free-spirited and will 'stick it to the Man'. Chandler has been independent since the age of 8. Rachel gets too annoyed at people who try to tell her what to do.

Joey, surprisingly, is the only one who can take orders in the group. He will listen to what he's told, which is good because directors and crew tell him where to stand and what to say all day. Trouble is, it makes it hard for him when people don't tell him what to do. When he's left home alone, he either finds something to fix or zones out until someone comes home.

Joey: How come people care so much about what this Michael guy thinks? Monica: what? Joey: Michael. Right here, on the menu. How come he only gave this place two stars? Is it 'cause everything's overpriced and too small? Monica: Joey. That says 'Michelin' Joey: What kind of name is that?

Joey's Jobs

Joey's favorite side job is dog walking. He gets to pet dogs AND get paid? Of course he's doing that. He'll even volunteer at pet shelters just to hang out with the animals.

The side job he does most is whatever Treeger or residents need doing in the building, though it's off books. Joey doesn't mind because it means Treeger's easier on him and his friends, plus Joey gets to meet the other residents who are actually pretty nice, and give him tips or treats when they can. Plumbing, painting, furniture, bikes, cars. His dad always told him that there would always be a need for people who could fix stuff.

He hates selling things because he feels like he's lying to people by selling them things they don't need or want. He gets a bad feeling in the pit of his stomach when he's good at it. He'd rather do an honest day's labor than being a salesman. Even doing commercials puts a bad taste in his mouth but if someone convinces him it's actually helpful or cool, all feelings go out the window.

When Joey wants to propose to his future wife, he is an utter wreck. In the middle of a panicking, he grips Ross’ shirt and asks “how have you done this like a million times?!”

Chandler snorts and spills his drink laughing.

“What are you laughing at? My sister had to propose to you” Ross retorted.
