IF YOU'RE WONDERING IF I WANT YOU TO→ Puckerose.
The movies made saying all someone felt seem so easy. When it seemed hard, it was easy in comparison to the real deal. Why? Because once the words were out, things couldn’t get paused. There wasn’t a way to distract from the conversation like there was with movies. What was happening, what did happen, wasn’t able to be turned off and forgotten about. They were words now hanging in the air, all of which he had said to her, and that was what reality was. Of course, the movies never could fully explain how it felt for the one opening their heart up. They never put in to detail how empty someone felt when all they had to say was out there now. What made it worthy to explain was that it wasn’t a bad feeling of emptiness, it was satisfying. It was relieving. It felt right. Whatever Marley Rose said to him after this moment, Puck would always be able to carry along the knowledge he had been honest with her. Whether that would be something he loved, or hated, was going to be completely determined by whatever she said next.
An apology was hardly the first thing expected to come. Then again, he didn’t have much of an expectation for anything beyond finding Marley in the first place. Anything she said could have caused him to react in such a way. Puck wasn’t aware of that, however. He tried to hold out and wait for it, wanting her to say all she had. He wanted her to have that same empty feeling he had, as strange as it sounded. With her, he wanted to know all she had to say. Even the bad, and especially the good. Whatever she had to say should be heard, she was important to the world in that way. At least in his world. Puck’s gaze did not dwindle away from her, his emotions did not falter— he kept it together until the end of her words. Perhaps it wasn’t so much that he knew she was done speaking when she said she missed him, but rather he needed the pause. He was still stuck on all she had confessed that he was a few words behind. To her, she was only going to see his smile breaking out slowly but surely, and not the gears that were turning in his mind. More importantly, his heart. He’d have to think about what was listed later, for now, his focus was that Marley was still there and wanting to be there, “I missed you, too, Little Foot.” Puck was blissfully unaware of how unconventional of a nickname it was to be used as a term of endearment. He didn’t have a lot of experience giving them to anyone, babe and baby aside. As unusual as it was, it matched the girl that went to it because both of them were different.
As soon as he had replied to her, someone yelled Kiss her and move on! from behind them. The sentence had clearly gotten to Puck as his smile changed to annoyance. He had already yelled and it did nothing, which made his mind think of the next possible tactic to get the crowd to shut up. The boy was certainly going to need to work on getting his mind to speed up in most situations on the account of his lips were pressed on Marley’s before he knew it. The first time that happened, it made sense due to her kissing him. Now he didn’t have that excuse, yet he didn’t enjoy it any less. If possible, now he could enjoy it more. It was an action they could both share with the knowledge the other wouldn’t pull away out of confusion or disgust. There was a mutual… something between them that allowed them this pleasure life had to offer.
Marley had to chuckle softly at Pucks nickname for her, once that seemed to stick and felt oddly appropriate considering the moment they were in. Marley didn't even have time to react to the random person heckling them from the crowd before Puck's lips were on hers - this time him initiating it and her simply melting against him instead of pulling away. There was no time to think or over analyze, but she was sure if she did - if she did have the the power to slow things down and over think every single milli-second, she wouldn't change a single thing. She wouldn't hide or run or change her mind. Because this moment, this heart racing, breathless, exhilarating moment couldn't be turned into something negative. It was just too sweet, the kind of moment Marley fawned over in all of her favorite movies - except it was her in the main role.
What probably should have been a simple kiss didn't take long to escalate when Marley moved in closer to wrap her arms around his neck, deepening the kiss and forgetting all about the crowd of strangers - and probably faculty that were watching. In the future she'd probably blush just thinking about her brashness but right now it didn't matter - because it was her and Puck, standing in the cold, finally showing each other how much they cared. How they weren't friends. How friends wasn't even in their vocabulary right now. It was so much more.
It was only when Marley felt a hand jerking her back that she realized where she was. Opening her eyes, she turned just in time to see the last person she wanted to see right now. Jake, "What the hell is this?" he asked, and her stomach churned. It was bad enough he just ruined what was hands down the best moments she had in weeks - but now he was making a scene, in front of an audience. She honestly couldn't blame Puck if he already wanted to get off the drama train he had clearly just boarded. She turned and looked at Puck apologetically before addressing Jake, "This is none of your business." she stated firmly, shrugging him off of her shoulder.
