All the details of that day

The smell of the stewpot filled the air

I was holding your hand and we prayed

I asked for a marital , Selfishly unfair

bread in the oven the heat

Your breathing came further apart

God you won’t take her if you really care

I remember the last words I’d say

I whispered , finding it hard to speek

I said that I will be okay secretly I lied

Because I haven’t been myself at  all

I never talk about it , keep it deep inside

I was mad at God , filled with pain

Left with only empty broken hart

Days would pass, sleepless nights

I couldn’t let you go, couldn’t even start

I tried to be brave , tried to be strong

I was consumed by the grief

Life was unfair, God did me wrong

Last night when sleep didn’t find me

My mind running a wild race

On my knees I want you know

I began to shake crying I prayed

I gave it all to God , I let you go

I will never forget. The great , the good, the loving, the fighting, the laughter, the tears , bye carefree , and the fear.. everything!
