suboceansongâ:
âI doubt it, and youâve got no proof.â Those were her last words before she sank beneath the water, closing in on the ship. She made sure not to move so fast that the Mesprit would be washed away, but being beneath the waves made her tentacles all the more menacing when they starting curling from the water beside the vessel.Â
But not too menacing, as instructed. Didnât want to cause too much of a panic now. To that end, she didnât let those aboard the boar stew in their own fears and assumptions of what might happen next before her head broke few of the waves. And to be a minor inconvenience to all those on the deck and on this half of the ship, she sprayed it with a light shower of water before dipping below again.
It was a short distance ahead of the ship that she surfaced again, coming back to a comfortable coasting speed.
âTame enough for you? Did you see their faces at first? You canât buy that.â
Mezzarin mostly trusted Tuyin to listen to reason here, but she was still unsure what to expect from her as they surfaced by the boat. She also didnât know if the people on the boat would even notice her on top of Tuyin, or the giggling she was doing after the first couple of seconds, but whether they did or didnât, Mezzarin was just glad they werenât going to have arrest warrants upon making landfall.
âYes, that was tame enough for me. Like, couldnât have gone better, really. I was a bit too far away to see their faces very well, but... they didnât look like they were business as usual, I could tell that much.â
Since they were above the water again now, Mezzarin let go of Tuyinâs horn, and shifted position now to lay on her front on top of Tuyin now.
âYou got your terror fill, then? Or are you gonna do the same thing on the trip back?â
