Asami’s Equalist combat outfit is notably different than the typical ones seen throughout Book One. It has the same drab olive-blue base as the regular uniforms, but this is only the base layer. Where other Equalists might have a principled distaste of all things bending, Asami at least recognizes the flexibility and protection offered by standard pro-bending uniforms, and has incorporated the basic design. She has the same basic torso silhouette, as well as the skirt design from the waist to above the midpoint of her thigh and the forearm guards that extend down toward the bases of her fingers. Shoulder pads offer additional protection not seen on the regular uniforms, as well as identification for when she is serving as the Equalist field commander and needs to issue orders.
Her shock glove here is more properly a glove rather than the standard-issue gauntlet, her own special design (in this AU, she is also the inventor of the regular shock glove) that can either be powered by a wire that snakes under her uniform to batteries on her belt (pale blue glow) or spirit vines (violet glow). Rather than a single aperture on the palm, her glove features five additional contact points at the tips of her fingers and thumb to enhance her chi blocking and general combat abilities. The glove is significantly streamlined from the base model and lacks external instrumentation, instead using the additional contact points for control: sliding the thumb contact over the four other outer contacts in sequence will activate and deactivate the current.
