In running, it doesn’t matter whether you come in first, in the middle of the pack, or last. You can say, ‘I have finished.’ There is a lot of satisfaction in that.

I wish I could hate you, you’d be so much easier to get over
But instead I love you, miss you and think of you constantly.
What am I trying to save, when it’s so easy for you to walk away?
There is so potential there, I insist; we can fix this, I swear.
But maybe it’s just in my head…
I don’t remember falling in love with you. I just remember holding your hand and realizing how much it was going to hurt when I would have to let go

Run # 1
So it finally happened...
the breakup we've been dancing with for weeks.
I thought it would be cripplingly painful and that my brain would fold on itself with silent pleas to stay but I’m just numb. I fought tooth and nail for this relationship and it didn’t work. Now I just feel relief. Anger. Fury, actually. Disappointment. Wasted time. Sadness. Failure. So many things. I gave everything of myself, more than I had to give. I’m empty.
I refuse to respond to this with my prior self-destructive tendencies. I will survive this and thrive, in fact. So…I strap on my shoes, take a deep breath and I run. And that's what I'll do as often as I can. I'll just run from this insanity.
Crazy how every song on my playlist has a crazy application to my situation that I never saw before. I’ve had multiple smiles at the irony.
"Bridges"
Gave you a minute When you needed an hour Chose to push it aside Instead of leaving behind you If any word that I said Could have made you forget I'd have given you them all But it was all in your head Now we're burning all the bridges now Watching it go up in flames No way to build it up again And we're burning all the bridges now 'Cause it was sink or swim And I went down, down, down
If I didn't hit it Would you still say you needed me Guess I walked right into it Guess I made it too easy If any word that you said Could have made me forget Would I get up off the floor 'Cause this is all in my head
Can we forget about it Can we forget Can we forget about it Can we forget Broods - Bridges
And to answer the question of "can we forget it?" - No. No, we can't.
