Vintage Art Deco Swan Lipstick
So my fox blog is “talksfox” c: it’s a side blog so I can’t ask from it
HELL yea shoutout to @talksfox l o v e i t
here’s another apology for being so inactive recently! i’m really busy with my extended project and my english coursework recently and I haven’t had time to think of new content 💗 but also I’ve been questioning my gender really heavily recently and finding that I identify less with “nonbinary” as a gender and more with like? no labels at all except acknowledging my body and what that means to me, my experience of transitioning, and how they intersect with my presentation to the world
to conclude sorry I haven’t been active! i’m super duper busy and also unsure if I identify as nonbinary anymore!
if anyone wants to mod this blog..... I’d die for you
You inspired me to make a fox themed side blog 🧡

This isn’t a response to something specific, just a thing I’ve seen reoccur a few times.
There’s two approaches to finding labels.
1. Self-description. A lot of the time, this method can result in a desire to be hyper-specific because you want to describe as much of your specific individual identity as you can. This tends to be where microlabels comes from.
2. Likeness-finding. This isn’t about your individual self but about find other people like you and a community to share.
Those are both really valid. And it’s obvious that lots of the NB community loves the former — however, a downside of it is that we have very little internal community, because we’re a lot more focused on describing ourselves than finding other people that we have things in common with and exploring those commonalities.
The other downside is that it is absolutely counterproductive to recognizability. A lot of community terms are going to be killed in the cradle by people abandoning them for labels that only a handful of people use.
For this reason, I really would love if people focused on uplifting the broad terms we create instead of fixating on how to be as specific as possible, while these terms are still in infancy stages. It’s much more important to me that people know that terms like stag, fox and swan exist at all and that they have enough usage and community to have meaning — because ultimately, that is what creates meaning — than that every NB has a different unique animal to describe themselves.
