Regulus glanced out the window, arm wrapped around his stomach while holding his coffee mug against his lips. He watched as the snow slowly made itself home in the rather vacant street.
Finally a white christmas, he thought with a soft smile. It was rare these days for him to smile - he had lately felt like he was in an endless rabbit hole of emotions, not being able to stop falling. But watching as the snow gently fell against the pavement. It almost made him feel in comfort that he will eventually swim out of this sadness.
Regulus sighed, glancing over at the colorful christmas tree - he felt his heart, welcome the warmth that knocked on his rib cage at the thought of his silly loving boyfriend decorating the tree. Usually he would do it, but lately getting out of bed has become difficult unless if its for work.
"Oh my love" Regulus gently whispered, taking another sip of his coffee. Reaching over and delicately rubbing his thumb against the ornament that Barty got him during one of their first dates at the Christmas Market. It was his favorite object in the whole world, and it always made him happy when needed.
"Your awake..." A voice yawn behind him, wrapping their arms around Regulus waist and bringing him against the warm body.
A perfect contrast to Regulus rather cold one. Regulus tilted his head back against Barty shoulder and smiled softly at him. only him. "yes, it's christmas eve.. i wanted to finally get a look at your masterpiece"
Barty snorted, leaning down and kissing his cheek. "It's a disaster, I just put every color together.."
"...I actually love it" Regulus answered honestly, bringing his mug towards Barty lips, giving him a sip of coffee.
"you're full of shit" Barty snorted again, taking tha sip and smiling softly at him. "but i love you for your attempt"
Regulus rolled his eyes, pointing outside. "It's snowing, and we have our vomit colorful tree.. i love it."
Regulus thought for a moment, humming. "Yes, I think I'm okay today.."
Barty pulled him closer, burying his face into his neck and breathing him in. "that's good, i was fully prepared to spend the day in bed with you watching the grinch for the 50th time"
"it's ma' favorite movie..."
"...can we still watch it? for the 51 time?" Regulus asked, pouting a bit.
Barty chuckled, kissing his cheek again. "Of course, wouldn't wanna spend Christmas Eve any other way."
Just a small christmas eve prompt, with my own projection of a sprinkle of seasonal depression. <3 some ups and lows vibe.
