Loving His Rival
Part 1
Alastor X Fem Reader Warning ⚠ ⚠ reader is an android/robot sinner, Vox is her older brother (no incest-ew), sorry if your name is Veronica but for the sake of the story it's just a stage name, song lyrics= credit-songs listed at the bottom of fic, Italics= thoughts, cussing, "italics"= singing. ⚠
In order to put your escape plan in motion, you quit being Vox's assistant and started something of your own.
Of course, you had to move carefully and patiently.
So, you stayed in the V building for a while.
As what?
"Ladies, Gentlemen, and In-betweens! Please welcome to the stage! VERONICA!!!" The announcer introduced you with the stage name that Vox forced on you.
"That's not my name~" You sang out, your voice echoing across the stadium through the speakers.
The crowd cheered soon after hearing your voice.
Yes, now you were a singer in Hell.
It was a secret hobby of yours while you were alive, and with new things popping up in Hell, you decided to pursue your dream occupation.
Even going so far as to learn some things from Lilith.
"Hello sinners." You smiled as the spot light shined on you as you took center stage.
"Veronica!"
"I LOVE YOU!"
"Marry me!"
"AAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!"
A giggle slipped passed your lips before you raised a hand, holding one finger in front of your painted lips.
"Shhh~"
The crowd fell silent.
"The songs tonight are from the living." You let the sinners know. "Now, who's ready?"
Sinners shout and wave their light sticks.
The background light turns on red, revealing the musicians in the back, the music starts and the fans cheer even louder. The screens are red and black, showing a masked logo.
You listen for your cue and start on time.
"It's not a game
I'm not a robot AI challenging you
I'm not a phantom
I'm in your face
I'm here to see it through"
"OH MY GOD! IT'S PERSONA!!!" A fan shouts.
"Right before your eyes
Watch us multiply
Come to claim our rights
It's time~"
"I FUCKING LOVE YOU!!"
"As our power grows
Tryin' to stop us shows
Might as well tryin' stop time"
After singing the three human songs you picked, you let the fans know there's one more left, marking the end of the concert.
"Thank you everyone! Now for a five minute intermission. Please hydrate yourselves or take a short break at this time." The announcer on the speakers says.
Once moving backstage, you turned to go to your dressing room, only to see him standing in front of the hallway to get there.
"There she is! Veronica!" Your brother held his arms out. "My precious little sister."
You rolled your eyes and walked passed him.
"That's not my name, you know that." You said as your stylist appeared by your side, starting to prep your makeup for the next song.
"That's why the sinners like you!" Vox said as he tailed you to your dressing room. "You're authentic, truthful, and a mystery to the people of Hell! Veronica is the most trending tag on social media!"
"Last song in five! Lets go people!" A sinner with a headset yelled out before the door to your dressing room closed.
Sitting in front of the vanity mirror, you let your stylist, Heather, take over.
"Your costume is behind the dressing screen. Water and snacks will be prepared for you before you get back on stage." Heather, said as she quickly worked on your makeup.
"Thanks Heth." You sighed and closed your eyes once she got to your eyeshadow.
Vox leaned against the wall with his arms crossed, watching as the red skinned demon started fixing your hair.
"I don't understand why you have all these people doing your costumes, makeup, and hair. You can change your appearance instantly." Your brother waved his hand dismissively.
"No one asked you Vox. Shut up." You opened your eyes once Heather finished. "And why are you even here? I hate seeing your face." You asked, standing from your chair and going behind the privacy screen to change. "Speak now, or leave."
You heard the door shut, knowing it was Heather since you could still hear your brother's annoying t.v. static.
"I just wanted to ask you to do me a favor." He began with a suspiciously annoying tone. "I mean, I totally understand if you can't. It might be too much or way above you. But if you can..."
"Get to the point Vox." You phased through the red dress, fixing it once it was properly on your body, your previous costume tossed over the privacy screen.
There's a knock on the door.
"Two minutes!" Someone says on the other side.
Stepping out from behind the screen, you go back to the vanity and pick up the jewelry set out for the last performance, putting them on.
"I need you to get on the Princess' good side." Vox says.
You pause.
The Princess? You turn to look at him with a questioning glare.
"I've told you before." You make your way out of the dressing room. "I don't want anything to do with your schemes."
Vox rolls his eyes and yanks you back by your upper arm.
"Listen here you little bitch-" He starts.
"Careful Vox." You look over your shoulder to glance at him. "I'm live in a minute. My mic will catch everything." Then you pout your lips. "Aren't I your precious V?" You taunt.
Slapping his hand off, you make your way back to the stage, changing your shoes into appropriate ones that go with your current outfit. Leaving the gloves prepared after feeling the texture, your arms left bare.
"Ten, nine, eight-" You hear in your ear piece, standing on a lift that'll raise you back on stage.
The orchestra plays softly at 4 seconds, the lift wris quietly and the spotlight hits your eyes a second later.
"Are you someone that I can give my heart to? Or just the poison that I'm drawn to? It can be hard to tell the difference late at night Play fair, is that a compass in your nature?"
"HOLY SHIT!"
"Or are you tricky? 'Cause I've been there And baby, I don't need to learn my lesson twice"
"YOU LOOK HOT!"
"But if you really wanna go there You should know I"
You lift your arms up, crossing your wrists, making gloves appear as soon as the strings end sharply.
"I need someone to hold me close, deeper than I've ever known Whose love feels like a rodeo, knows just how to take control When I'm vulnerable, he's straight-talking to my soul Conversation overload, got me feeling vertigo"
The crowd cheered and a good amount sang along as you continued.
"'Cause training season's over"
Once the song finished, you took a bow and waved at the sinners.
"Thank you so much for your support!" You said and then turned to your musicians. "And thank you talented demons! I couldn't have done this without you or the staff in the back."
Turning back to the crowd, you blew a kiss, promising to let them know when another concert would happen.
~
Alastor was listening to the live audio on the radio.
He quite liked the singer and was surprised to see on a poster the sinner from way back then.
Vox had claimed the demon was part of the V's but she would deny and avoid any connection to the them consistently over the years. The annoying television even went as far as to have the youngest V, Velvette, give the singer a name that started with a V.
The singer would state that it wasn't her name during every concert that would announce her with it.
Veronica.. He hummed in thought.
A plan began to form in his head. One that made his smile grow wider and wider as it continued.
Perhaps I should re-introduce myself to the lovely canary.
The Radio Demon had decided to add a new voice onto his broadcast.
One that would stay for a while.
