“Oh, that was jus’ uh,” Klaus mumbles, eyes looking over at the ghost who’s none too pleased with his shenanigans as of right now. He doesn’t finish his sentence, though, rather he listens to the question and lets out a mumble before snorting out a laugh.
“Well, see, man, that’s the problem.” The problem must amuse Klaus, because Jerome will hear the telltale giggling on the other end as Klaus leans back in his chair and closes his eyes. “I gotta be sober to do it and I - Well, I haven’t been sober in years.” He chuckles, and on cue he lifts a glass of bourbon to his lips and sips. “Why? Who y’wanna chit chat with?”

Stumbling forward, Klaus begins nodding his head in profuse agreement. “Oh yeah. Super dull. Poor guy never goes out. Looking for daddy’s approval, that sort of bullshit. Hey, what’ll ya drink, huh?” Klaus is all too quick to move himself to the bar, tapping on the counter with urgency. It’s clear that he won’t be satisfied until he’s drunk, anyway. Even more drunk than he already is.
“Don’t you worry about that! I haven’t been sober in fifteen years.” It’s said with a light-hearted laugh, features momentarily lighting up. “Hey, you look familiar. Have I seen you before?” Eyes squint, he’s gesturing widely to the bottle of scotch sitting on the shelf as an order to the bartender, who most certainly looks displeased to see Klaus again, and he’s settling down on a barstool.
*makes a jerking off motion every time someone with authority talks*
It would be nice, being able to say that this is the first time Klaus has roped some stranger into drinking with him. However, that would be a lie! With Klaus, it’s hard to give no as an answer - mostly because he’s never been good at taking the word. Eyes light up with excitement at Reaver’s agreement. “Yeah, yeah, sure! Absolutely! I got - I got money, somewhere...” So saying, he begins digging through pockets, grumbling to himself inaudibly until he finally finds a wallet stuck beneath his shirt, of all places.
“There we are! Nicked it from Luther. What’s he need it for anyway? He never goes out!” Without explaining who Luther is, or even giving a name, Klaus begins ushering Reaver towards a door with a brightly lit sign.

“I just love your coat! Are those feathers real?” Without a care in the world, the lanky man reaches out to brush his fingers over the coat in question. His eyes are wide, pupils dilated and shining in a hinting fashion, and it’ll be a wonder if he remembers any of this tomorrow. Klaus looks at Oswald with those large eyes and an equally as wide smile. “Where do you shop, huh?”

I’m remaking icons, so smack this for a short starter!
On the other end of the line, the previous Umbrella Academy member is bickering with his dead brother. However, he pauses to hear the man on the other end speak. Quietest little, “ooh,” spills from his lips, as though he really is considering that. On his end of the line, Diego is attempting to intervene by calling him. Luckily, Klaus is not answering his brother! “Yeah, yeah, yeah, it’s ah - it’s - fuck, what is it...” The last part comes out in the quietest murmur, and there’s the sound of shuffling - he moves quick, knocking off a vase that had been decorating the table and accidentally kicking over a chair - and begins to name off his current phone number.
“Good, good! I can do that - I know this darling little place down town. I just need to get into Luther’s room and we can be on our way.” He needs money, of course. Klaus typically blows pretty much any dollar he can get his hand on, and if they’re going clothes shopping, they’ll need the money! “No, no. Not Luther. Pogo, he’ll have something. Yeah. Yeah, good plan. Good plan.” Chattering to himself, he’s quick to grab up some of the broken shards from his mess as he moves about the room. Clothes shopping; How fun!
