JACOB ANDERSON Variety Studio at SDCC 2026
that has to be at least a ten hour flight, right? absolutely brutal. with all the respect and love in the world as well, i'll be telling him that the next time i see him. i'll have to make sure my schedule is clear for next year so i can attend, and so people won't be sending me videos of you looking all sad during the panels whenever my name is mentioned. listen, the katseye drama is very important to me and i'm still waiting for news about manon, which i'll happily be sharing with you whenever some comes along. as for toy story, i'll just have the girls explain it all to me when i see them next. yeah? you're in luck — my schedule is entirely open for the rest of the summer so i'll be there to stay. you say that now but we both know you would've complained if i had tried to wake you up at 3 in the morning to go to the gym with me. actually, yes. very special — i'm going home and staring at the wall while i pretend the rest of the world doesn't exist. a whole month of live shows almost every night? my social battery has not only died but has caught fire and exploded.
don't remind me. and then the eight hour to new york after spending the week with the girls was just the cherry on top of an already overstimulated, jet-lag fuelled concoction. definitely feel like i hit my flying limit for the rest of the year. what happened to loyalty? though to be fair, i don't think i did a good job at hiding how i felt the entire weekend so once i'm back in london, i promised to take him out for a couple of drinks as an apology. can't even deny how pathetic i looked whenever your name came up, the guys and the entire internet clocked my shit real fast. holding you to that 'cause i might be a little too invested in why manon left. listen, going to the gym at 3am is psychotic behaviour and i fully stand by that— but i definitely could've been persuaded into coming along if i knew how good you looked sweating in the tightest gym shorts known to man. staring at the wall and dissociating until your batteries recharge is good and all, but i hear there's a flat in new york calling your name. and i also have it on good authority that there's somebody there looking forward to helping you relax.
very worth every impending jab and joke. can't wait to see what kind of news drops this week at comic con regarding the next season. speaking of, are you already there? my phone hasn't blown up with any masked hero photos of you and the others yet but i'm waiting. don't go killing the tradition now. admittedly, i had to use the google to check out what this new toy story was about since i live under a rock and wasn't aware there was more than three out. looks interesting so glad at least one kid stayed up to enjoy it. oh, i'm very smug about it. i've been bragging to anyone that will listen, which is mostly my cousin and doubt co-stars. see? further proof that this relationship will only benefit the show — easier to pull off the longing looks when there's real feelings behind it. really nothing but positives here. it would've been so much better if you were here but i'm glad i got you for opening night at least. only a handful of weeks to go before i can pack my bags and join you in new york for as long as you'll have me. oh — surprise! i'd say i'm sorry about it but i'm really not.
i landed late wednesday night and then got a flight back to london an hour after the last interview on sunday. the jet lag is as unforgiving as you can imagine. you know i don't fuck with tradition, not when it comes to comic con. i hit the floor in a sun wukong mask for the occasion with assad which was fun obviously, and i’m saying this with all the respect and love in the world, but he was a poor substitute for you. your absence hit especially hard this go around— i missed having my partner in crime by my side. your ability to talk my ear off about the latest katseye’s drama and then in the same breath have no idea toy story was on it's fifth movie is such a you thing. never change, sammy. i'd have you with me forever if i could. but i'd settle for you staying as long as you want. the viewer count on that video might be 80% me but i have no regrets. well, maybe one and that’s not going to the gym with you more often in toronto. so, last week on stage. doing anything special to mark the end of your incredible run?
Everyone is freaking out over Bad Apples trailer because you are there. You might be the greatest reason people actually want to go see it.
@jvcobasil
now hold on a second, i don’t think you’re giving yourself nearly enough credit, love. the heinous things maria does in the trailer alone has the masses rooting for her simply because it’s you.
wouldn't surprise me at all. i'm okay with not being able to live it down if it means that we don't have to hide anything while around them. might just make filming season 4 a little bit easier ... if we get renewed. still waiting on that tiny little detail. glad you're accepting of the word because i had zero plans to take it back. seeing you in dad mode just does something to the heart. what's on your itinerary so far? glad to hear the heat has been turned down a bit and i hope it stays that way. you know, having her approval is everything to me. i was pretty convinced for a moment there that nothing was ever going to dethrone wicked in the anderson household so don't mind if i'm a little on the smug side of things. confession: it's my favorite song off the album as well. the entire scene that accompanied it was also my favorite. today's show was great, but i'd be lying if i said exhaustion didn't come along with it. the moment that curtain drops, i'm trying to run home and stare at a wall. still, under all the complaining, i really am having the time of my life.
when you really think about how much of our time and energy over the years were spent fighting our feelings, the thought of getting to just be is worth the lighthearted jabs and endless questions. no way the world isn't hungry for more of lestat's fucked up, poetic inner monologue. i took the girls to watch the new toy story and even though amy fell asleep on my lap within 10 minutes of the ads playing, it was a morning well spent. then we took a slow scroll through hyde park for a picnic with the ducks. be as smug as you want, it's not everyday wicked is replaced as the fan favourite in the anderson household. yeah? i think being serenaded by you in up there for my favourite scene that i got to shoot in season three. barely any acting involved in the love-stricken look that louis has for the majority of it. i mean, there's definitely worse ways to decompress than mindlessly staring at the wall for hours. guess that's the trick to surviving the madness since nobody else i know would be able to keep their composure after performing daily in the way you do. it makes me happy to see you in your element, even though i'm not there with you in person, hearing your exhausted rundown of your day at the theatre and the joy in your voice is genuinely one of the best parts of my day. by the way, i would’ve appreciated a heads up about the men’s health interview dropping— opening up that video in public very nearly had me in an embarrassing predicament.
sometimes I often forget that you infact do music as well which is so fucking crazy to me and that you are british!!!! we have so much in common, totally kidding - do ever go back to Bristol to visit where you used to live? I still have a home in Newcastle and go back often and does your accent ever slip out sometimes? or has it gone too far? sorry not sorry for the questions because I can't help it, I have so many roaming through me head and just in case you've forgotten - hiya i'm perrie. || @jvcobasil
all that's left is for you to pick up an acting gig and then we'd be going three for three on the similarities. to be fair, between two small children and acting jobs that take me out of the country for over half of the year, i don’t visit bristol as much as i would like, but every time i get a small opening to go back home and see family and old friends, i take it. having a place you can call your own in your home town sounds lovely. was buying a place in newcastle always something you wanted to do? it probably depends on who you ask, but i’d like to think my accent hasn’t changed much. hi, love. how have you been?
i had one of your songs come up on a playlist the other day and it genuinely caught me off guard. not because i didn't know you made music, but because my brain apparently refuses to file both careers under the same person. i listened to half the song before it finally clicked and i just sat there thinking, "well... that's embarrassing." @jvcobasil
in all honesty, you aren’t the first person to tell me something along those lines and probably won't be the last. if it helps, the stage name is probably a big factor in why your brain takes a moment to connect the dots between the two sides of me. what song was it that had you briefly shutting down and rebooting?

INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE 02.08 | "And That's The End of It. There's Nothing Else" script
( @scmuelreid. )
they don't even know about it yet and somehow i'm already annoyed. who do you think will be the first to claim that they saw this coming from a mile away? because i'm ready to drop an considerable amount on it being either delainey or eric. a few months sounds lovely so i'll take it without complaint. hearing about you being in parent mode and trying to create an itinerary is terribly adorable and only making me miss you more. you'll have to tell me all about the adventures the three of you end up getting up to over the week, leave no details out. ignoring that tiramisu comment out of pure jealousy. heatwave still hasn't let up, huh? brutal. hopefully the new york weather has a little bit of mercy. though i'd happily suffer any temp for the chance to see you in ballet tights. not long to go now, thankfully.
our pseudo daughter is two seconds away from clocking our shit, so my moneys on her being the first to throw out a very pointed "took you guys long enough". if not her then assad. a little more low-key in his approach, but he'd be the quickest to pull a move like that. either way, i don't think we're gonna be living it down for a long, long time. you know what... i was going for responsible but i will take adorable, especially if it comes from you. actually it's a little less like the inside of a furnace this week, which i think the entire country is thankful for. you wanna know something funny? i might’ve had the volume a little too high when watching episode 6 because your littlest fan has been humming along to brutal love for the last couple of days; not that i mind since it's probably my favourite song from the album, but i thought i'd let you know. the wicked soundtrack has been dethroned. how was today's show? i honestly don't know how you do it multiple times a day six days a week. think i would already be burning out.
what's the funniest sort of rumor you've ever read about yourself online? i think for myself, that i'm actually a secret twin and my supposed sibling is out there trying to get in contact with me. i can surely promise there isn't another one of me running around out there. @jvcobasil
i don’t know what i was expecting you to say, but a long lost twin didn’t even crack my top 5. how did that rumour of yours start circulating? as for me, there hasn’t been many that i’ve come across, but the craziest one i do remember getting on occasion when game of thrones was airing was that i missed a certain body part just like my character grey worm. zero clue why people jumped onto that particular rumour, but diving into the psyche of strangers online ain’t exactly my idea of a good time.
well, it's out there now and there's no taking it back. don't remind me about them. rolin's going to have a stroke when he finds out that the chemistry started bleeding off screen. good thing we won't be seeing them all for a hot minute and can enjoy this little bubble of bliss until then. when do the girls break for summer? i'm only a little jealous that i'm missing out on peach danishes, and super jealous that i'm not there to witness these studio days in person. love watching you in your element. extending my flight hours in exchange for watching you do ballet? i'm in. selfishly hoping these training sessions will include the ballet tights too. i wrap on the 2nd of august and can get things arranged with rani and my cousin by the 5th at the latest so we can work meet up details out later. it's probably some sort of sin to mess around in a priest fit but zero regrets. can't wait to see you again.
preparing for the inevitable questions and inappropriate jokes from all of them. don't forget the shit - eating grin when he finds out his co - leads are dating. what comes first, the freak out or the pompous attitude, is anyone’s guess. our bubble of bliss has at least a few months of undisturbed peace before we have to open that pandora’s box. they break up next week so i'm trying to plan ahead like a responsible parent and have an itinerary of fun things to do for the week before i leave. listen, the only thing you’re missing out on is today’s tiramisu danish 'cause being in the studio in the middle of an endless heatwave is up there for most disastrous life choice and that’s a list that has a lot of competition. guess you will just have to wait to find out if those training lessons include the tights. i’d say that was half of the fun, baby. already counting down the days.
bordering on co-dependent? that's a nice way to put it before confessing to having my timezone memorized and time slots set aside for my calls and texts. all this while we were platonic, mind you. though don't take this as judgement because you know i'm the exact same — got the london timezone pinned to my world clock, forever waiting for those moments where you can slip away for a chat. so, are you eating your words yet? i'm already trying to figure out a time where i can sneak away to come see you but between the months of july and august, i only have 4 days off. august 2nd though? i'll be jumping on a plane to come see you, wherever you happen to be at the time, and i'm staying for as long as i can. that was the perfect last day here. laying on the couch doing nothing with you and rani? heaven. i can both appreciate and be distracted by your outfit. though i will confess i appreciated it so much more when it was on the floor of my dressing room. exclusive fan experience aside, it means everything that you liked it. thank you, baby.
i was going easy on the both of us but you if wanna air out our deranged business, be my guest. our definition of platonic honestly left little to be desired, and i can already hear the shit we’re gonna get from the guys when they find out we finally crossed that bridge. a little more than i’d care to admit to. although the familiar chaos of the morning school runs and the stuffy deafening days in the studio are a pretty decent temporary bandaid to cover my desperate need to call you every minute of every hour just to hear your voice or tell you what the pastry of the day is from the local bakery you loved. less than a month to go. that being said, i'll probably be in new york by early august for ballet training so if you’re up for extending your fight time by a couple of hours, i’d love to have you with me. figure we can finally cross off more from our new york bucket list. i would say the same about the priest fit but i had more fun playing with the collar than chucking it to the floor. best exclusive fan experience by far. you know i’ll always be there if my schedule allows it.
can’t say i ever envisioned it for myself either. late night calls, going to sleep when you’re waking up, flights that dance the line of torture — it never really was all that appealing, but you’ve changed my mind entirely. suppose, in a sense, our friendship has been long distance for the most part so we got this. can’t be too different, can it? i’m giving you a round of applause for the restraint. very impressive. i won’t get too smug about about my third place ranking … for now. no promises on any future gloating though. if we keep this madness up then our relationship will be just fine. so, what did you think of the play? also, very rude of you to show up dressed like you did. took a fair bit of control to stop myself from staring at you while i was on stage.
so basically what you're saying is our bordering on co-dependent friendship is the ingredient to being pros at a long distance relationship? suppose now that i think about it, it makes perfect sense— i already have your timezone ingrained into my being and the daily morning texts and coordinated phone calls in the tiny chaos-free window we find is something we mastered a long time ago. though, i fully expect to eat my words when i leave and realise i won’t be seeing you in person until our schedules clear up, but that's a problem for the future me stuck on a twenty hour fight with nothing but my thoughts to deal with.. i know i said i wanted to squeeze in as much touristy stuff i could on my last day here but honestly? all i want to do is take rani on a walk and then have a chill day indoors before you head to the theatre. you up for a quiet day ignoring the outside world? with how much i was gushing after the show i thought it would’ve given you a hint as to how much i loved it, but i’ll happily repeat myself and tell you how blown away i was by your performance. everything, from the work the crew did behind the scenes to the story unfolding on the stage was done so beautifully, and watching you in your element was a sight to behold. oh yeah? that’s funny, ‘cause you seemed real appreciative of what i was wearing when we got back to your dressing room.
You seem to go for a lot of fantasy type shows with your roles. Unless I'm imagining things but going from Game of Thrones to Interview with a Vampire... what draws you to them? Big fan of the fantasy genre. @jvcobasil
in all honesty, i have a fantastic agent who knows her shit and is exceptionally good at knowing the type of roles i gravitate to. but what tends to draw me to projects like thrones or interview is how much i love finding humanity in an otherwise dark world and in characters that aren't necessarily "good". which i think is so inherently fascinating as an actor to be able to dive into and explore. plus dragons and vampires are cool. what’s your favourite fantasy series?
everything that has scrapped me in the last three months has been work related. when you are working at the beach anything can happen. most of the time i do too because of the kids, but i don't think that that would work. people would just laugh.
i always end a beach trip with some sort of injury, whether it's a knee meeting the edge of a sharp rock or inhaling too much salt water so i can't imagine the injuries you end up with after working on a beach for an extended period of time. sounds like a dream in theory, but all that sand in places it shouldn’t be? i couldn’t do it. what’s the best and worst part about working on a beach?
Oh darling, I feel you. but you win this time with the night shoots and the little ones, I know exhaustion is relentless. When do you rest? how can you switch off. Taking note: a quick meditation, I would add a few drops of lavender on the pillow. Hot bath with magnesium when you can. You’ve got this. Are you still filming these days, darling?
nah, don't feel sorry for me. i made the choice to have kids so the early mornings and little to no sleep is all on me. good question, never… but in all seriousness, i think carving time out for yourself is important and watching movies is one of the ways i can decompress. appreciate the tips and i will definitely be giving the lavender and magnesium a try when i hit the “too exhausted to sleep” stage. i don't start filming my next project for another month. just focusing on music and my girls at the moment. how about you, love?
