Headstands offer many health benefits. They may help to:
strengthen the upper body, spine, and core
enhance lung capacity
stimulate and strengthen abdominal organs.
Tips on how to get the head stand:
1. Practice with the wall.
2. Don't rush into it. It will only cause injuries. In the video, you can see I took my time to get the legs up as I try to maintain my balance.
3. Contract the core.
4. The weight is on top of the head. If you are putting your weight on your forehead, this may cause your neck to hurt later.
5. Avoid spreading the elbows.
6. Most importantly, warm up well.
It is amazing to see what the human body can do if you just try!
For a long time, I practiced the sports, wushu. It is a demanding sports requiring flexibility, coordination, agility and power. This is me performing with the broadswords for my HSC physical education examination. For me, this was the best performance i did despite the mistake of not relaxing the upper body in the middle of the performancing making it look not as aesthetically pleasing.
Never give up even when facing strong opponents.💪
Tips on how to get your chin stand.
1. Do not forget to warm up with pulse raisers
2. Stretch the back with cobra, the bridge and child poses.
3. Add some dynamic kicks such as back kicks.
4. You need to have your needles or at least a very good scorpion before progressing to this skill.
5. When you roll on the ground, it needs to be done softly with the tummy first, chest and then the chin. Support with arms at the back with palms facing forward.
6. As you kick the legs back, try not to spread them too much. Point the toes.
Tips on how to get your elbow stand split.
1. Your shoulders should be strong enough to hold your body weight. Weight training helps or practicing the handstand on the wall.
2. Work on your core.
3. Look down and focus on one point only.
4. Spread your fingers
5. Practice on the wall first
6. Have a neutral body position
7. Point on your feet
8. Have the elbow stand stag first

Injuries are common when practicing a sport. This video shows how to minimize the risks of injuries.
Training for flexibility is hard. As you can see my first oversplit here is better than my second since my left leg is more flexible. An oversplit is a more than 180 degree stretch. This static stretch can help in doing the straddle jump more effectively. The form of my second oversplit is not good. The hip position was not square. The quadriceps of the back left should be touching the ground completely but since i lack that hip flexibility, the leg is not in proper alignment. To get a good oversplit, learn how to do the split correctly with the back leg's knee touching the ground and the heel facing upwards. Start with a small height, hold for around 20-30 sec and as it gets easier, increase the height of the oversplit. Do not forget to warm up with pulse raisers or else you can get injured.
As a future physical education teacher, i can make use of the hot potato app to make quizzes, mcq, matching, true or false and cloze test.

Technology has allowed great advances in learning.
First of all, it provides a wide range of information that students can use to learn with YouTube videos, free publications and notes and audios.
It allows flexibility especially during Covid 19 when most classes were online. Students could learn and revise at any time in the comfort of their home.
Technology at school allows PowerPoint presentation which makes teachers’ life easier with already prepared notes saving times in writing notes.
The use of google classroom, Kahoot and Diigo allow students to do their quizzes or assignment when they are free.

As a beginner, drills are important in any sports to get better. Here are 8 badminton drills to improve your game. Fixed drills improve footwork and muscle memory of the skills. It is important to practice drills before any match to improve the consistency of the rally. I think it is better to have a long, consistent rally rather than rushing to score and put the shuttle out all the time or smashing on the net.

PE, despite people knowing its importance, isn’t treated like the mainstream subjects such as math. Even more saddening, as from Grade 10 in Mauritius, some students stop practicing their sports to concentrate on their national exams. It’s a pity! Talents could have be discovered or nurtured...

Anyone can become a teacher but being a good teacher, not everyone can be. I was also a student, I had teachers who only gave print outs to revise like robots, I had teachers who made us want to sleep in the class but also others who inspire and motivate and who is there to support you. The best teachers are the ones you’ll remember after years. They were the ones who believed in you when you did not and help nurture your potential whether academically or in sports. I thank whole heartedly all my amazing teachers!
