I’M AFRAID OF NOTHING. Jafar had NEVER been one to confront his own fears. Subjecting himself to the torture of reliving the events of his own dismal childhood would prove to be futile. To most, the motive behind the Sorcerer’s actions was nothing short of a mystery. Many believed he sought power, some thought he wanted revenge, or possibly riches. What he wanted, what he truly wanted was the CHANCE to do to his father what he’d done to him all those years ago…and now, he’d get the chance.
Forming an alliance with the famed Jabberwocky of Wonderland was an easy decision for the Scourge. He knew having the creature by his side would ensure his success. The duo formed a DISTORTED alliance, one without trust, without belief in the other, and one that would never be mutually beneficial as long as one had power over the other. The Sorcerer’s words escaped the crevice between his lips as he spoke to his “partner.”
“ Tell me, Jabberwocky. What is it you’re AFRAID of? I’ve suffered ENOUGH, listening to your insufferable rambling about fears and the dread that lies within us…Enlighten me, what is it you dread? ”
The question the sorcerer posed was not an unexpected one; no, many who had come into contact with the beast ( though none who had ever freed her ) had questioned what the monster who fed on fear could possible fear herself. She supposed she owed him an answer, and had he truly wished he could have asked long before then. The answer was either picking away at his mind, or he was simply so overcome with boredom that he needed to fill the empty silence with SOMETHING.
"I fear... what anyone fears." She began vaguely, leaning back over the seat in which she had draped herself, catlike. "I spent a hundred years in the dark, alone with my thoughts, JAFAR. And in that time, in that darkness, alone with one's mind... one tends to go a little bit... mad. Pondering their fears and their life."
But she had yet to answer him, and she righted herself in the seat, leaning her head to the side and allowing a loud cracking of bones shifting into place before she continued on; "I fear that I am the only of my kind. A fact I very much know to be true-- if not always, then certainly by now. But I still fear it. The thought of being completely ALONE in the World. Does that------ surprise you?"
