My final project before I graduated from college: An Excerpt from the Ayerias Ultima.

Ayerias is something I've been thinking about for several years now, but it's such a monumental project, it's very hard to present it in any way it actually makes sense. So, over my final semester, I've worked to create this booklet as sort of a way to document some of my ideas with Ayerias!
This book is written by the Children of Nyl in collaboration with the Court.
Any "blank" areas are intended: this was printed and I customized each booklet by hand writing a phrase in Uuriamytrix where the translation guide should go. (The phrase is untranslatable without enough information, but it read "The Court refuses")
All writing is my own, and most (95%) collage pieces have been gathered from Old Book Illustrations. (If you look through the animal section, it's not hard to find which pieces I've used.) Other pieces are from Pexels and public.work. All images used are free use.
This booklet is inspired by many things: bestiaries, collage, my intaglio works, Gravity Falls, Monster Hunter, and Lovecraft all play a role in how and why this was made.

(Final fun fact: the reason An Excerpt from the Ayerias Ultima is written right>left is that, when I was making the script for The Dreamer, I wrote the figures from left>right on the plate, forgetting that printing reverses the text....)
"why did you stop writing your story!!! never stop writing!!!!!!!!!!!" well you see the character had to drive one mile to a new location and the sentence "she got into the car" was quite simply my undoing
I feel this on a deep and personal level and I know you're making a joke but I do also want to take this opportunity to pass along the biggest small piece of advice I've ever gotten: You don't have to explain every step of how something happened unless something unusual/important happens along the way.
You can simply cut to the next scene when she's at the location, without explaining how she got there. People will fill that in. Now, if something important happens in the car on the way there, then sure, mention it. But if she's just driving? Nah. Delete that sentence, pop in a scene break, and keep writing.

This was too cute not to sketch; in part because something like that happened to my father once at a zoo. I guess birds just like calm people, especially, when they provide a safe place from a group of loud school children on their trip.
It took 3 weeks, but here's my submission for an art competition! Not sure if I'll win, but at the very least I made a piece that I'm proud of, and it seems the person running the competition seems to like it too!
