OOC: Situation update + help?

[[ I’ve heard back from the file saving company, and they told me there’s a good chance they’d be able to save the files lost in my broken hard drive. Unfortunately it’d cost over 100€ (110$) and that’s 100€ I simply do not have - not after the bill from getting my PC fixed. I don’t know what I’m gonna do with the hard drive and the lost files, but frankly that’s the least of my worries right now.

I’m gonna be honest here now - I’m really short on money, and this whole episode with my PC seriously wounded my already withering wallet. I cut my ties to my family this June due to mental health reasons, and I’ve been living on my own since. Mentally, I’m doing way better than before, but financially it’s - unsurprisingly - tough as hell. I’ve got rent and bills (electricity, therapy, medicine) to pay and two cat mouths to feed. I’ve contacted my bank to get a student loan, but I’ve yet to hear back from them. As it is, I’m looking at my bank account and wondering how the hell am I gonna make it.

Obviously, I’m trying to look for a part-time job I could do while continuing my studies, but as we all know landing a job is easier said than done. So, I figured I could try another route - by opening art commissions. I’ve never done this before, but if I’m ever gonna start doing them, now is clearly the time.

What are your favorite shippings in yugioh not involving Yami Marik, Akefia, Ryo or Yami Bakura?

To be completely honest, the only ship that comes in my mind is Mai Kujaku x Ishizu Ishtar (that’s… Visionshipping?).

Visionshipping is actually one of the few ships I like as happy and even a bit cuddly-cuddly. There isn’t much canon base for this ship(?), but I like the idea of Mai, who is more outgoing kind of a person, coaxing Ishizu to go out with her ‘just to get her out of the museum for once in a while’ or something. Not in a ‘you’re lame and your work is a bore, let me drag you to this rave party’ kind of way but more ‘it’d do you good to get some fresh air, how about we drop by some nice, calm bar’. Kind of… Mai would make sure that Ishizu doesn’t get too lost in her work, but she’d do in a gentle manner, not by just forcing Ishizu out.

I can’t really think up any other ships without forcing it. I ship quite scarcely even when it comes to my favorite characters, so the odds for me shipping any characters outside that inner ring are quite bad, haha. Guess I have a bad habit of getting stuck in just a few things…

I don’t know, if you’re interested in my opinions on some ships you could send them to me or something? I’ll gather them in one post sometime later to avoid spamming text posts.

The previous anon asked for my interpretation of female Bakura. I did exactly that, so there is no ‘re-drawing’ it. In my eyes, Bakura who is slender, almost skinny as a male, would keep that basic body shape as a female, too. So, no ‘generous bust’ or hips that round. I don’t see any reason why the clothing should change that drastically either. That is my headcanon for female Bakura, and I’m sticking to it.

So, sorry, but this ain’t gonna happen. Like I mentioned in the previous post, I don’t usually even do requests. Besides…

Pardon me if this comes off as rude - which it probably does - but expecting every rule 63’d character to have big boobs, tiny waist and round hips (and possibly revealing clothing on top of everything) is a big, big personal pet peeve of mine. So big, in fact, that I usually prefer to stay far away from rule 63. Now I did an exception, and this message is what I get as a response - and this is not the first time. Not too long ago I got asked in my ask blog what female version of my AU Bakura would wear. I did that, and guess what - I got another ask about if she could do it more ‘sexy’.

So, I’m not too happy about this. Not happy at all. I’ve dealt with this long enough and now my cup is full. I’m not gonna swallow down my annoyance this time.

I get that most rule 63 art is done for kink purposes or whatnot, but that shouldn’t be a rule. Not every woman in the world has a hourglass shape, you know? You don’t have to have big boobs, tiny waist and round hips to be a woman. What more, what is ‘sexy’ is a personal preference. For example, not everyone finds big boobs sexy (like yours truly). Why - counting out kink pics - should every rule 63’d character even turn out to be sexy in the first place?

I’m just so done with the unsaid ‘rule’ of rule 63 that every 63’d character = hourglass figure, preferably with skimpy clothing. Now, there are cases when it can actually work out, and can even fit the character in question, but that is more of an exception than a rule. Take Bakura, for example. Why would a reedy guy suddenly turn out to be curvy as a female? Of course it is somewhat up to personal headcanons and such, but for me that just doesn’t work out.

And before anybody gets to point it out, I know that the thing I’m criticizing right now, I’ve done in the past myself. And let me tell you, I’m not proud of it. Not at all. I’m fairly sure we all have drawn/done things in the past we wish we hadn’t.

So in case anybody has ever wondered why I so rarely do rule 63, this is why. Now you know - and let me tell you, I’m not going to touch rule 63 anytime soon again. I’ve given it its chances, and it didn’t luck out.

For very last thing- there are also some people who have given me positive feedback on these recent rule 63 pics. You people know who you are, and I want you to know that I appreciate your every comment, even if I just wrote a five-paragraph rant of how peeved I am about the whole rule 63. If it weren’t for you, I would’ve probably kicked the whole rule 63 off my world long time ago.
