AOMG - Illionaire Thanksgiving
The days in Seoul had been getting colder and colder. This time of year was the hardest for you because of all the holidays. As the snow began to fall over your adopted city, your thoughts started to wonder back home a little more than usual. Sure you were happy here. What started off as a study abroad had soon turned into a dream job and finding the man of your dreams. Now it had been five years since you came from your small town in Middle America.
You missed your family and the small town life, especially since it had been almost three years since you had been back. You wanted to go, but your job at AOMG had kept you pretty busy. There was no slowing down. Once one of the guys finished promotions, it was time for another and since you were the PR rep for the company, you had your work cut out for you.
You had started to get dressed for work, pulling on a simple pair of jeans and hockey jersey. One plus side of AOMG was that the dress code was very laid back. Not knowing what to do with your intensely curly hair, you left it in a high pony tail. Finally throwing on your boots and jacket, you left for the day, ready to get your mind off of the upcoming holiday.
Arriving at work you were immediately busy. Jay had just dropped a new album so the place was busy. Almost five hours had passed before you felt a tap on your shoulder.
“Babe! Don’t take this the wrong way, but you kind of look like a zombie,” your eyes bugged out of your head.
“Joon-Kyung, what are you doing here?” your boyfriend was not normally in the building since he was the CEO at illionaire records, one of the closest companies. You had met him through one of his collaborations with Jay and you both took an immediate liking to each other. Fast forward two years, and you were still going strong. He was busier than ever with the company, but he still made time for you.
“I am doing a featuring on Gray’s new song. And since you are here I wanted to come by to see how everything was going, maybe even get a little kiss from you.” You smiled at his corniness. “That can be arranged.” You grabbed the back of his neck and pulled into a kiss. Not four seconds later and Loco was making gagging noises as he walked by.
“Keep it in your pants Joon-Kyung.” This got an immediate smile from your boyfriend where you were left a nice shade of red from embarrassment. This past week Joon-Kyung had been staying at the company to put the finishing touches on his album. After an hour of watching them record, you decided to get them some dinner, since they weren’t even half way thorough.
Something had felt a little off with your girlfriend the past couple of days. She wasn’t mad at you, but at the same time she was short with her texts, taking longer than normal to reply. When you saw her she almost always looked tired. Sure you had to record for the new single, but that could have easily been sent over to Gray. You wanted to come and ask about how you were going from the guys.
“Hey, Jay. Have you noticed something off with (Y/N) recently? She is just being weird and I can’t figure out why?”
Jay turned around and looked at you. “Did you miss a date? Take a sexy photo shoot? No sex?”
It wasn’t a lie that Jay was very open about everything, and something about him made you comfortable with everything. “The sex is great and she canceled on me. I can’t figure it out, so I thought maybe the guys were keeping her busy?”
Jay shook his head slowly. “Just my album but other than that no one has had any scandals for her to cover. Loco quitting drinking has really made her job easier.” The two sat in silence for a few moments. Taking a moment you rubbed your face, getting annoyed that you couldn’t figure out what was wrong with (Y/N).
“It’s probably just homesickness.” Judging by your confused expression, Jay continued to explain. “Thursday is thanksgiving in the states. And I have seen the photos of her family thanksgiving in America before and it is a big thing for them. Everyone gets together and then Christmas is just a month away. She probably misses her family. I know before mine came over, I had a tough time around now.”
Nodding your head you started wondering how you could make it easier on her. “Hey, we need to have a meeting tonight. Without her so it will have to be at illioinaire.”
The production schedule was done for the next comeback and you actually had a chance to go home early that day. Most of the guys had decided not to come to work or had to be outside the company, so there weren’t the normal distractions. Giving Joon-Kyung a text, you were shocked when he replies that he was home already and waiting. 20 minutes late you got off the subway and were making your way up the stairs to your door. You thought you heard a crash but assumed it was just the dog chasing the cat or something.
Turning the door, you were greeted immediately by Joon-Kyung. “Babe, close your eyes.” While you stared at him confused, he put his hand over as a makeshift blindfold. “Close enough” he muttered.
Bringing you further into the house, you guessed it was probably the dining room.
“HEY!” you heard a shout.
“Pumpkin?” you couldn’t think of why he would be there. Taking off your blindfold, all of the sudden you noticed that all of AOMG and Illionaire was standing in your apartment. They were gathered around a spread of various foods, mostly Korean. They all were smiling at you and Joon-Kyung immediately wrapped his arms around your waist. “I know that it isn’t a turkey and all of the other stuff, but I figured that at least your Korean family was all together and on their best behavior,” he emphasized looking at the group. “You made all this? Why?” he spun you around so that he could look in your eyes.
“You are always working so hard for us. And I am always doing crazy things and creating more work. We all would be so lost without you, maybe a couple of us would even be in jail. But becuase of us you aren’t always able to go see your family. So this is the least we could do.” You could feel your eyes water but you blinked rapidly for a couple seconds and pulled Joon-Kyung’s lips to your own.
“Thank you,” you said as you placed another kiss on his lips. “Unless you are going to kiss all of us, can we start eating?” Loco had never been known for his silence. You all got to your seats and started in on the food. It was true that all the boys were well behaved, hardly talking about work and if they brought it up, Joon-Kyung would shoot them a glance and immediately the topic would change. Just being together like this was wonderful.
After dinner you noticed that Jay and the Dong Gab had disappeared, probably trying to get out of doing the dishes. Joon-Kyung pulled you aside while the others did what they could to clean.
“Babe, I know it isn’t the same but I really hate seeing you so homesick all the time. Jay told me this is the hardest time for you and all the guys had noticed that you were quieter than normal. Please don’t be afraid to tell me when you are hurting. I may not always be the easiest to deal with, but I love you and want to help you anyway possible.” You through your arms around him, holding him tight and thanking God for such an amazing man in your life.
There was a knock on the door shortly after you and the boys had settled in front of the TV to watch some holiday movies. Seeing as it was almost midnight and all your friends were with you, there was no telling who it was. Joon-Kyung immediately got up, pulling you with him. You stood by him when the door opened revealing a confused looking Dong Gab and a grinning Jay, who happened to be carrying a couple bags. When they had their shoes off, they still stood in front of the door as if to block you from seeing outside.
“What’s going on you two?” They smirked and immediately you racked your brain trying to think what they might have done.
“So we know that you have been working hard the past couple years taking care of us. And you put up with all our crazy shit and taking care of us when we can’t do it ourselves- “Like all the time” The Dong Gab throughout, interrupting Jay, who simply shook his head. “But anyway, you are our family and we hate that you couldn’t see your family for such a long time. And since you finally took Joon-Kyung out of our hair and deal with him, somehow, we have a little surprise.”’
“Oh my God. Please tell me you didn’t.” You knew that you had silent tears running down your cheeks. It was hard enough that all the guys were watching you and with Jay giving such an uncommon and thoughtful speech, you knew that something big was going on. Joon-Kyung’s smile could be felt on your shoulder where he was resting his head.
“Consider this our gift to you. And a thank you.”
The second that Jay and Dong Gab moved aside you let out a sob. “Mom! Dad”
They were finally here, standing in front of you. After hugging and crying together, you pulled them inside, not believing what they had done. You hadn’t realized that most of the guys had huge smiles on their faces. Jay was leaning on Loco, both moved to watery eyes. ChaCha was busy taking a picture of the moment. And Simon stood with his hand on Joon-Kyung’s shoulder, clearly proud at the scene playing out before him.
“Did you do this for me babe?” You still had your arms connected with both your parents.
“Well Jay had pointed out that you hadn’t seen them in so long. And Simon, Pumpkin and Gray all talked to their parents to get the recipes. And Dong Gab and Simon helped me cook. Jay had some work with your schedule so that you wouldn’t figure it all out, plus everyone made sure to give you the next two weeks off so that you can spend time with your parents.” He had his hands in his pockets when you ran over to him. Jumping up, you wrapped your legs around your waist and squeezed him to you.
“That has to be one of the sexiest things I have ever seen a man do (Y/N),” Simon commented, clearly impressed at the plans that your boyfriend had gone through. “All so that he could meet them.” The boys gave a chuckle and you realized that it was true. Sure your parents had spoken to him on the phone and face time, but this is the first time that they had officially met. Realizing this, you slid to the floor and pulled him over.
“Mom, Dad, I want you to finally meet Joon-Kyung.” Your mom immediately pulled him into a hug. When she finally let him go, your dad gave him a firm handshake. “It’s nice to finally meet the man (Y/N) is always telling us about. Welcome to the family son.”
