Word of Warning
If you're highly allergic to shellfish, probably triple think your decision to move to South Korea. Not only does most of the food have it, but the air is tainted with shellfish poison. Just a thought for those of you who are thinking of moving across the world. Allergies are a thing here. A big thing.
PSA: Soju
Many of you know that soju is a super popular/common alcoholic beverage in Korea.
But some of you have it twisted. Soju isn’t something you drink out of the bottle. It isn’t typically something you drink alone unless you have a problem. And you don’t drink ten bottles of it on your own.
Soju is very similar to vodka. It can be anywhere from 16-55% alcohol so some bottles are way stronger then others (they don’t regulate each bottle so it depends on luck mainly). You pour shots with friends and share the bottle. You almost always have side dishes or snacks with it as well. And many people drink beer as a chaser.
And if you’re drinking anything other then Cham I Sul (참이슬) you’re doing it wrong.
