PHOTO EDITOR at Metropolis magazine. Metropolis stands out from other architecture and design magazines, with photography that blends the formalness of architecture with the playfulness of design. The mantra at Metropolis is Design At All Scales, the basis for art direction at every photoshoot.
PRODUCT STYLING for Metropolis magazine. An ongoing series at Metropolis, “Material Palette”, chronicles select designers’ swatch, material and paint inspiration. Other stories include, the December’s Gift Guide and the industrial textile company, Momentum. Styling, colors and angles, always crisp and popping. Photography by Nicholas Calcott.
PHOTO ILLUSTRATIONS for Fast Company, TED & Metropolis. Working at Fast Company as digital photo editor, I created images quickly, very quickly, for breaking tech stories and/or essays. I developed a style of eye catching illustrations using photographs found on either Shutterstock, images supplied by press, or diving deep into Flickr’s Creative Commons.
HERSTORY ⚢ LESBIAN CULTURE ⚢ 〰pop culture to high art〰 Herstoric Lesbian Imagery. Founder and curator of the popular Instagram account @h_e_r_s_t_o_r_y - now at 59K followers. Digging into the internet & archives to find and present herstoric images from 1800s to the early 2000s. Infamously unearthed the 1970s feminist tee-shirt by Liza Cowan ‘THE FUTURE IS FEMALE’, now trending worldwide. HerstoryXOtherwild is an ongoing, twice yearly clothing and accessories collaboration with Otherwild.
