The Sprawl was commissioned back in 2015. In many ways it's a companion release to the "Assertion.." mini album. It was written at the same period, related ideas & production, there's even an ambient re-version of one the Assertion tracks (Cellular Perimeter)

last year i had a dream about a piece of music. it had an immense phased bass line, which moved like a zeppelin, coated in electric static fuzz, and slow crushing drums, a droning tender top vocal line, and this synth melody that dropped down like heavy falling snow. The images were of broken golden concrete, clouds drifting between buildings. I tried several times to write a track approximating that, none of which I felt did a good enough job. A few months later The-Dream released this song. It sounds like a recording of that dreamt musical image. I fucking love The Dream’s production.
