Gods of Exandria
Dirk turned himself into the villain to continue the story.
When he realized he was a character in a webcomic, he probably also realized without a story, it would be the same as the characters dying; they would, in a sense, seek to exist.
By taking control of the narrative and continuing the story, catering to what he thinks we the audience want, heâs completely destroyed not only his own free agency, but that of all the characters. But heâs doing it because he thinks thatâs the only way they can all continue to exist.
...
Fuck.
I love being right, but gang, I hate being right rn đ
I might end up making comparative homestuck theory posts again to exercise these fucking flare ups now that the comic exists anew. Theyâre mostly classpect related which is hard because I know the new writers have the answers and I want em bad.
So instead until I can close that dam off again expect some posts using some of the following to explain homestuck:
- Loki
- SAO (Alicization)
- Destiny 1&2
- Shakespeare
- Mythology
- Philosophy
- Probably a lot more
Rack âem up
I could do that if I tried đ

It's about on brand for a Yakuza side plot.
Oh man I gotta say the panels for this update are super cool. The art team is doing a kickass job.
Spoilers beneath the bar it does give us an idea of the scope moving forward. I was really hoping the characters were gonna talk about their classes more, but the context for the story is important too I guess.
I was wondering why the site was treating me funny 0_0

Edit: Correct link to the update
Itâs been really interesting seeing the new updates roll out, and I gotta say I was excited when I read the news update back in October teasing the inclusion of the classes and aspects. To that end, will we by chance get the rest of the class pairs and verbs (Destroy for Prince/Bard, Steal for Thief/Rogue)? I understand that thereâs a variety of factors that might make this unanswerable, but I appreciate you and the team regardless!
i wanted to do this and i think the team suggested we sort of do it in the comic instead of just copy/pasting the doc and thats probably better i freaking guess
I for one would also love a Sburbology book, and I raise you a SburbGo to your Homestuck Gacha.
(Wait didnât they make a FiduspawnGo joke in PesterquestâŠ)
Also as much as I get where Havenâs going with this, after so long I must admit the double mobius carousel that is my brain would like to just know, even if it isnât all that impressive. Like the fan base had a good idea that Hussieâs development of the class ideas was gonna be pretty barebones, but honestly that would do loads for the classpecting portion of the fanbase even if there isn't some fun and official quiz. Not to mention the archival analytical readers who will then use that framework to reexamine characters, or the cross-fandom folks who use classpects as a way of looking at other works (looking at you, Crystal Gems).
kinda seriously bugs me how most classpect discussion on this website still revolves around the old optimisticDuelist and bladekindeyewear theories even though those have been deconfirmed since hs2 confirmed maid is a passive class

Hello everyone, my comic is updating again!!
so ive been writing out a more indepth analysis of TB!Hal for an ask and its,,, long, but i wanna share this one tidbit about the mage class ive got cooked up on its own:
Iâve got an ask once where someone concluded that Mages are the pathfinders of Homestuck classes, and I really like the implication of it. In the same ask, they summarized that Seers, as the passive counterpart, understand their aspect and steer others with that understanding, while more active Mages experience their aspect and steer others with that experience. (Slight tangent but fr if youâre the person who send this ask (sadly it was from anon) i want you to know that itâs been such a based take i think about it daily, and also iâm kissing you on the lips rn.)
When i was doing research about the classpects, people often concluded that Mages must suffer from their aspect and gain knowledge through that suffering. While both Mages we were introduced to in the original comic, ie. Sollux and Meulin, could steer people into believing that to be the case, i want to propose a different explanation: Mages job is to experience their aspect, and through experiencing it they gain a vast understanding of it. A big part of learning about a new subject is the act of failing at it.
Letâs make an example: if you pick up a pencil and decide to learn how to draw, you wonât produce the next Michelangelo masterpiece on your first try. Or your ten, or one hundredth. But, if you fail and identify why you failed â your proportions were wrong, your shading didnât match the lighting scenario â and start to consciously avoid making those mistakes again, youâll start to see the improvement. But the process is slow, and the results often donât meet our expectations, which is what makes people give up and decide that drawing is just not their thing. Or sometimes people get stuck, frustrated with the lack of improvement, because they havenât identified what mistakes theyâre making and simply keep on making them again and again, instead of steering away from them, which also drives them into quitting.
The art of learning about any subject is a steady stream of constant failures, identifying what went wrong, remembering to avoid it, and at last realizing that youâve improved and succeeded, and this is what the Mage experience is about. We keep on seeing miserable Mages because they either get overwhelmed and give up on learning about their aspect, instead avoiding experiencing it at all costs, or they gain the knowledge of why they failed and try to guide others with it, but they themselves are unable to apply that same knowledge to their own life, instead falling into the same fucking potholes again and again.
