sometimes it's such a conquest to start.. a real problem very often. it doesn’t seem to matter to what detail i pre-composed it or how clear the ‘vision’ of the subject-matter is. the white is a stranger that screams, making me feel anxious & pressured to no end. (so… white emptiness is my enemy?) i think i started manipulating myself into ignoring ‘the enemy’. i don't protect the white while i paint other stuff, i don’t cover it up while i work on something else. i let paint drip on it, i use it to test colours or note sthg quickly,… in time it gets ' marked', acquainted, it becomes something that goes along with me, a byproduct that i befriend, start a ‘conversation’ with… and then suddenly it’s kinda like we are creating together. the abused white and me. i guess that means improving/reviving/fixing seems more natural to me than 'giving birth’? i always admired people going in with that confidence, walking a straight line and taking over solely relying on their ‘principles’. i just question too much.
... it's time..
