A Few Things I Knew Before Entering my Twenties

1. It’s lonely 2. Happiness can be hard to build or find , it requires deep soul searching that is not always easy. 3. Resumes and cover letters are the work of the devil. 4. It’s Everyone for themselves , survival of the fittest 5. Cherish the small successes , not everyone can go 0 to 100 real quick.

Disturbing Man Becomes my New Found Motivation

As if life could not get any stranger, especially as of late. Today as I walked to the bus stop , on my way home from work, trudging through the slush and ice. (Mind you I am looking at the ground so I do not bust my ass like last week, and sprain an ankle again.) A man, who I am assuming from his appearance of balding head, bug eyes , an un-matching sweat suit, and his sweaty self in 20 degree weather, was on something. But, he had the audacity to call me out , and say “ You wouldn't be struggling so much if you weren't so fat! Slim Down!”

Normally this kind of whacked out behavior of bums wouldn't phase me, I would probably smile and nod because I actually feel bad for the person acting outlandish. I often wonder what it was that got them to this point in their life. However, I have been struggling lately with my confidence, and have been feeling really insecure. 

I know I am beautiful, and intelligent, and talented. But, it doesn't help when rude ass strangers point out your insecurities. Maybe this man just did me a favor, I feel even more motivated to get back to the gym.

The whine of Ho hos

4 AM blood stained bed sheets

Unexpected feeling of defeat

Flash forward 2 years

The florescent light reflected in the dressing room mirror blinds

Blurring the pants too tight I didn’t want to see this time

Only my best friend knows

Too fat or too thin, I’d give anything to the hear his or her whine

Yet, I as a woman do not have equal pay

They taught me all about CHOICE

They taught me how NOT to make mistakes

Yet, the year of Body Positivity could not explain biological rejection

Something HE or me  did not, could not, know how to take

They did not teach me this

Which brings me to today

How I wonder how we would play

Because of a body that I was taught was never good enough, I was not fit 

 I was taught to sit here in my silence, in my millennial “greed”

Thinking how I’ll never tell you that no one likes you when you’re twenty-three

Sorry for the Silence

This has been the week from HELL. Between Strep Throat, a crazy ass Job, an ex boyfriend I cant quite quit, and completely and utterly embarrassing myself, I have had a lack of motivation to write, and to do almost anything. 

Please excuse my absences as I drown my sorrows in caffeine and Netflix as I try to finish my cover letter.
