So, here Stupid Labs brings you the easy and fun DIY activity of making a straw aeroplane that will fly higher than the other paper aeroplane. 

To make this simple aeroplane, you only need a few materials that are easily available at your home.

Materials Needed:

Two drinking straws, one sheet of A4 or letter-sized paper tape or glue scissors

To make a simple paper aeroplane, start by cutting two long strips of paper, each about the width of your hand. These will form the wings and loops of the plane. For the wings, fold one strip in half to find the centre, then unfold it and place a straw along the fold line, securing it with tape or glue. 

This straw will be the plane's body. Next, cut the other strip in half, forming two shorter strips. Fold each into a loop and tape or glue the ends together. Attach one loop to the front of the straw and the other to the back, ensuring the back loop is slightly smaller for better flight. 

Add a bit of tape to the front for balance. Hold the plane by the straw and gently throw it, making adjustments to the loops and wings as needed for a smooth flight.

Toys From Trash | How To Make Balloon Shooting Gun | STEM Activity (EASY)

Creating a balloon shooting gun from a syringe, ice cream sticks and a rubber band is a fun and educational STEM activity that also repurposes everyday items. 

Today, I'm going to show you how to make a super cool balloon shooting gun using a syringe, ice cream sticks, and a rubber band. It's a fun STEM activity, and you'll be using items that might otherwise end up in the trash!

First, grab an empty syringe (without the needle, of course!). Take two ice cream sticks and place them on either side of the syringe. Use a rubber band to tightly secure the sticks to the syringe, making sure everything is snug and won't move around.

Next, cut a small piece from a balloon and stretch it over the open end of the syringe. Make sure it's tight, so it doesn't come off when you pull it back. This will be your shooting mechanism.

Now, it's time to test your balloon shooting gun! Pull back the balloon piece, place a small paper ball or another light object into the syringe, and then let go. Watch as your projectile shoots out with a burst of speed!

This project is not only fun to make but also a great way to learn about physics and engineering. Plus, you get to be creative and make a toy out of simple, everyday items. Happy shooting!

Make Toys From Trash | How To Make Mini Basket Ball Shooting Table Game

Creating a DIY basketball shooting game from cardboard, a plastic cup, and bottle caps is a fun and engaging project for all ages. To start, gather materials including cardboard, a plastic cup, bottle caps, glue or tape, scissors, and optional markers for decoration. 

First, cut an 8x6 inch cardboard piece to serve as the backboard and attach a plastic cup with the bottom cut off to the backboard to act as the hoop.

Next, make a stable base by cutting a 10x10-inch cardboard piece. Create two 6x2 inch supports and attach them to the backboard and base at an angle. For the shooting mechanism, cut a 4x2 inch ramp and attach it to the base aimed towards the hoop. Bottle caps will serve as your basketballs, and you can decorate them to add a personal touch.

Place the setup on a flat surface and use the ramp to launch the bottle caps into the cup, either by flicking them with your fingers or using a small cardboard launcher for added challenge. Adjust the ramp's angle or the distance to vary difficulty, and add a scoring system to make the game more competitive. Secure all parts well to ensure stability and enjoy your homemade basketball game!

Toothpick water experiment | Understanding surface tension 

The toothpick water experiment is a simple yet fascinating demonstration of surface tension and capillary action. You need a bowl of water, toothpicks, and liquid soap to perform.

First, break several toothpicks in half, but leave them unconnected at the ends, creating a “V” shape. Gently place the toothpicks on the water's surface in a circle, forming a star-like shape. The toothpicks should float due to surface tension.

Next, dip a toothpick or a cotton swab into liquid soap. Carefully touch the soapy tip to the centre of the star shape. As the soap spreads from the centre, it breaks the surface tension of the water. This causes the water molecules to pull away from the centre, dragging the toothpicks inwards. The result is the formation of a star shape, which is a visual representation of the soap disrupting the cohesive forces between water molecules.

This experiment not only demonstrates the principles of surface tension and capillary action but also provides a hands-on way to visualize how soap works to break down grease and dirt. A Simple Hot and Cold Water Density Science Experiment 

A simple hot and cold water density check is super easy and fun! First, you need two clear glasses, some food colouring, and hot and cold water.

Prepare the glasses: Fill one glass with cold water and the other with hot water. Make sure the water levels are the same in both glasses.

Add food colouring: In the cold water glass, add a drop of blue food colouring. In the hot water glass, add a drop of red food colouring. Watch how the colours behave in the water.

Observe: In the cold water, the blue food coloring will slowly spread out and mix with the water. In hot water, the red food colouring will spread much faster. This happens because hot water has a lower density than cold water, so the molecules move more quickly.

Combine: Carefully pour the cold water with blue food colouring into the hot water glass with red food colouring. You'll see the blue cold water sink to the bottom, and the red hot water will rise to the top. This is because cold water is denser than hot water, making it sink.

This simple experiment shows how temperature affects water density and creates a cool visual effect with the colours. It’s a fun and easy way to learn about science right at home!

You would need paper and sketch pens, a small motor and a battery for this STEM science experiment.  

Draw and cut out a soccer player on paper. Decorate it with sketch pens.

Plan where the motor and battery will go on your soccer player

Use conductive tape or wires to create a path connecting the motor to the battery.

Secure the motor at the base of your soccer player with tape or glue.

Attach the battery, making sure the positive and negative ends are properly aligned with the motor's terminals.

Connect the conductive tape or wires to the motor and battery terminals, ensuring a good connection.

Once all connections are secure, the motor should make your soccer player move when the circuit is completed.

So, today’s short and quick video is about making a ball bouncer from waste material that is a fun and easy DIY project. Here’s how to do it -

First, gather an empty plastic bottle, scissors, a rubber band, and a small ball (like a ping-pong ball or a bouncy ball). Cut off the bottom third of the plastic bottle, making sure the edges are smooth so no one gets hurt.

Next, take the rubber band and stretch it across the open mouth of the bottle. Secure it tightly by looping it around the bottle’s neck several times. This rubber band will act as the launcher.

Place the ball inside the bottle, resting on the stretched rubber band. To play, pull the rubber band down slightly and then release it to launch the ball into the air.

For added stability, you can tape the bottle to a flat surface. Alternatively, you can create a handle by attaching a piece of sturdy cardboard or another section of the plastic bottle to the base.

This simple toy not only provides hours of entertainment but also teaches about elasticity and energy transfer. Plus, it’s a great way to recycle and turn trash into something fun!
