Hmmm. Nary a single strand of his own hair visible. Quandary. đ€·đ
surviving-the-hiatus replied to your post: nothing on any tv show ever has come as close toâŠ
Heâs scary in real life too.
omg i can believe it XD
Like Iâm not even a rabid fan girl type so please donât misunderstand me when I take a moment to say nah TC is literally the sweetest man alive and heâs the complete opposite of that terrifying character in Criminal Minds.
believe me when i say i totally believe that too!! i would just be scared like intimidated scared cuz the man is an acting god XD but i definitely can see how sweet he probably is. thatâs why heâs such a talented actor.
He is such a gentle soul who is the complete opposite of all the extrovert and wicked people he has played. He is the first person in any situation to put people at ease and I can assure you youâd feel nothing but oddly calm in his presence .
And yeppers - heâs a talented wee shite and BOY does he commit.
But heâs a sweetheart.
In reply to the "oddly calm" comment it is so true! At the LA Hollywoodshow he did, while waiting in line I was just a mess of nervous excitement but when he was being taken to that room and I caught a glimpse of him a calm just came over me. It was like i was meeting up with a friend I have known for years! I saw it in everyone else when he got there. A palpable calm, gentle, peace came over that area for sure!
It really is a testament to his talent for sure to make you feel like a friend and then be able to tap into something so haunting and sinnister for a character such as Billy Flynn is incredible!
I wanna apologize if this is uncalled for and I realize I probably care way to much about it- but that is why I am saying something, especially since I am disabled myself due to Juvenille Rheumatoid Arthritis and often need to be in a wheelchair for excess walking or long events. I just have to get this off my chest, take it for what it is worth.Â
Folks, there is literally NOTHING to be "sad" about when it comes to Tim Curry and the stroke he had in 2012. Â
Let me tell you something, and let me preface this by saying that I am not in any way comparing myself to Tim or trying to earn pity or sympathy or be self-deprecating but I am just stating facts here: Early this past March- I had a small, super tiny stroke. Now I had some speech aphasia and complete numbness and loss of grip in my right hand. Now, my stroke (and it was a stroke, not a TIA there IS a difference) was not even hardly a blip on the radar compared to his- those symptoms went away as quickly as they came on and I was left with no deficits- but it was still fucking terrifying to have slurred speech and know what you want to say but not be able to and not be able to hold anything with your dominant hand all of a sudden. I literally cannot even imagine what one of the magnitude that caused his would be like. Now I get it, he danced, he wore heels, he did theatre and musical theatre on several stages over his career- but there is still nothing to be sad about because despite the magnitude of his stroke-he survived it and is still singing, doing roles, and flying across the country to go to different fan conventions. Last July, I was lucky enough to meet him at the Hollywood Show in LA. He still has his speech, his wit, his charm, his personality, and looks wonderful.
I am saying all of this because I have seen way to many people saying how "sad" they are about how his stroke left him and it is just enough. HE JUST FUCKING FLEW TO FLORIDA FOR CRYING OUT LOUD. He has made a literally remarkable and miraculous recovery and continues to get better all the time. Where the hell is the sadness in that??!! What makes me sad is not how the stroke left him but the fact that people are missing the big picture of him still miraculously being here and are literally meeting a living legend. THAT IS TO BE FUCKING CELEBRATED!
I want to thank those fans who go to these conventions that DO get the big picture and realize the celebratory factor and amazingness that is being in his presence. There were plenty of those sentiments too but ya know.Â
Honestly, as someone who often uses a wheelchair and scooter it is also kind of offensive. A wheelchair is not something to be sad about because it helps those who need them live their lives. They are good and necessary things.
I have been a fan of his since childhood so he obviously has had my admiration for a long time, but now he has it on a whole other level. It is weird to say, but going through the small stroke I had and my physical issues there is like a whole other level of him inspiring me and a sort of connection there. He is truly a kick ass legend who will not let this get in the way of him living his life or meeting his fans and that is fucking incredible!

âIf I Could Do It Over, I: Wouldnât change a thing, because the best artistic decisions are instinctive.â - Tim Curry
This is lovely! We are such lucky folks! TC love all around!
âLaverne was standing at the piano and was getting ready to sing âSweet Tranvestiteâ for the very, very first time, and Tim was sitting at the piano next to the pianist. When she finished, the first voice that came out was 'Brava!â from Tim Curry,â Ortega said. âThatâs what we all felt throughout this entire experience working with Tim. His generosity, his wit, his charm, his elegance â he is just a true pro. Every day on the set with him, he placed his trust with us and we had a blast. We had a ball.â - [x]
I love hearing them talk about working him! So amazing!

Hollywood Show July 9th, 2016
Just arrived back home! It was absolutely incredible!
Friday was essentially travel day. Got there late that night and went to bed-though little the sleep may have been lol. Saturday we get to the Westin at 8 and just kinda hang out. Got our entry tix and photo op package purchased at 9 ( we opted for just Tim. Met Dave Elkouby who runs the event-VERY amazing guy- and just kinda hung out for a bit. Then we were able to get in line by the room were Tim was gonna be. At this point it was so cool to get to start meeting other fans and squeeing over photos and sharing stories of watching him etc. Let me tell you how remarkable it was to see this huge line growing and growing by the minute. SO amazing to have so many people there for him!! All of a sudden, Barry Bostwick comes strolling by and we all lose our crap. So cool to see him. He is SO tall and very handsome and he had a huge smile on his face at our squeals and "OH MY GOD'S". They started bringing in some of the "props" (the RHPS throne, a Pennywise doll, an "ANNUAL TRANSYLVANIAN CONVENTION" banner, etc) and photo equipment. They then start kind of "grouping us" by photo op packages- those who were there for just Tim or The RHPS gals and Tim, etc. As it got closer to time, my friend and I started just getting so nervous-in a good "holy crap we are meeting our idol" way but none-the-less. We all started wondering if they were gonna bring Tim in right in front of us or in a back way. Around that time, he arrived! Security wheeled him into the room RIGHT in front of our eyes. In that moment all of the nervousness went away and was replaced with an overwhelming happiness and peace. He looked so great-yes he certainly can still make you go weak at the knees!! About 20 minutes later or so, they call in the first chunk (which we were in) of the line to head in. Â The first couple people got theirs done and it became our turn. I got to sit on the throne-YAAAASSSS!!! ;) So I get on the throne and my friend gets right next to me and Tim asks us what our names are and we tell him. At this point, one of the sides of the transylvania convention banner, which hung above us on the wall behind us, slipped and fell down. They told us to just stay put but it added about 3 extra minutes to get it hung back right and tacked down with something stronger, so we got to actually talk with Tim a bit longer! I tell him that we drove out from Phoenix, Arizona and he responds "That's a really long drive", I just laugh and say "yes it is but so worth it" and his whole face just beamed! I have to say, when you are talking to him he is looking right into your soul. I mean, he locked eyes with me and never broke. SO incredible! My friend, who is a preschool teacher, then told him how she taught her students, as a way to run of some energy when it is too hot here to go outside for too long, the Time Warp dance. He then asked her "you're a teacher"? She says "yes, and my students also wanted me to say hello to you!" He then says "tell them I say hello back!" I tell him how I grew up watching him and told him how he became a fixture of so many memories in my life growing up and what an honor it was to meet him and my friend extends similar sentiments and he says "thank you!" The banner is all fixed at this point and the photographer tells my friend to actually go on the other side of him to kinds balance out the photo. They take 3 and choose the best one to print. We smile at him, he thanks us once more and we thank him again and head out of the room. Best. Experience. Ever! What was cool for me was sitting there talking to this man and thinking how amazing it was that he could do this event. Both in the terms of his recovery and how it allowed him to see just a small, small, sampling of the amount, variety and ages of his fans. He was just so sweet and wonderful and it was so incredible and surreal! Total bucket list moment for sure!! We then went to the vendor room and hallway where stuff was being sold/other celebrities were doing their signings. We got our picture taken with and a hug from Barry which was so cool. Again, holy crap is he tall and good looking. He was so sweet and so funny. Got to meet Little Nell and Pat Quinn, They are both gorgeous and a hoot and a half!! Ended the day by picking up our photo and running into Dave again and thanking him for such a wonderful event. Best freaking weekend of my life!! I will be over the moon for a very, very long time!!
Happy Birthday and lots of love to Tim Curry,

Happy 70th, Tim! Cheers to many more! Now, let there be cake!
Tim appeared in âAn Evening Of Classic Broadwayâ at Rockwell Table & Stage on 14th December 2015 where he debuted one of his self-penned songs. One of my lovely friends was lucky enough to be there and sheâs very kindly allowed me to share her footage with you all.Â
Amazing man is amazing.Â
Enjoy!!Â
Oh my gosh! Thank you for sharing and your friend for allowing you to share! This is so great! No doubt he still has it, guys! Absolutely amazing!
