Natasha frowned as he waved her off, ready to say something in response when his voice became sterner than he normally spoke to her. She imagined he used a similar tone as a guard and an officer and dropped her gaze from his face, finally, focusing instead on where her palm lay on his chest. âIâm sorry.â Nat said finally, still looking at their hands. âI donât mean to push, but you donât have to keep it to yourself. It doesnât have to be that way.â She swallowed, glancing back up at him, âYou let me in this far.â
She nodded as he spoke, âThen Iâll stay awake with you. And donât argue with me, I can sleep after my class.â

Kaden couldnât help but clench his jaw. Yes, he had let her in. He wanted to let her in. But it wasnât that easy. He had baggage; things that he had done that he wasnât proud of. Or times when he knew he could have done more and yet, he hadnât. âIs there something specific you want to know?â He asked, finally glancing towards her, their eyes meeting.
âYou will not.â He said, but a smile had formed on his lips now. He wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her down to the bed again. âI will hold you and watch you sleep all night long.â He said, holding her close to his chest. âIâm used to not getting much sleep, and I donât want you to stay up for me.âÂ
