The Bodega Boys saved my life🎨🎨

The art saves my life guys. I work 3rd shift campus safety at a private coeducational university located in an urban east coast city. I’m not one of those guys who work security with the aspiration of becoming a cop. I’m here solely for the free education(C.O. 2015) & to make ends meet. I’m a very laid back officer, each night I’m just trying to make it to eight, when it’s time to go home. Since its the summer my job mainly consists of us patrolling an empty campus but I still have a particular area that I have to check each night, before I started to check that area I got myself prepared to listen to the Bodega Boys podcast, I’ve been a fan since DvM and am stoked anytime the 🎨 is put out. In order to prepare to listen to the 🎨 it took me five or so minutes of siting in the campus safety vehicle to get things right, I had to adjust the levels on my phone, get my power cord right, make sure I had some water and almonds available. My supervisor even came over drawlin cause it was taking me so much time for me to get started. Once everything was right, I curved dude and got on my way. A few minutes into riding around I get to a street intersection where I hear what I thought was gunfire. I stop the vehicle and back up to the middle of the street and put on my hazards. See the campus safety vehicle is an Explorer and has a light bar and there’s the possibility that the vehicle could be mistaken for the cops. I gave my heart a few minutes to come down out of my throat and I decide that the coast is clear and I make a turn at the light, in hindsight since the 4th of July was just a few days ago it could of been fireworks but… When I make that right and get to the next corner I see a car stopped haphazardly, a chick hops out of the passenger seat shaken up saying that they had been shot at. The driver hops out too, he thinks that I’m the police. He gets out his car and leaks on the front of the vehicle. He wasn’t just shot at homeboy was shot. I never saw the drivers side of his car but I could see the shooters shot out the rear drivers window and the driver was leaking into his shoes. I hop out the vehicle to inform the coupe, 1st I wasn’t the cops, 2nd that the cops and the medics were on their way. While I was mentioning this the driver was telling me that he just came from the casino that’s blocks away from the campus. I figured this was a cover story he had prepared to tell the police since it seemed unlikely that he would be involved in a drive by if he was just a casino patron, the area that he was headed from is known to be where narcotics are purchased. Bullets don’t have names and dudes seem to use a lot of them because they have bad aim. I’m pretty certain if I had arrived minutes earlier I would of been hit too either from bad aim or the shooters mistaking me for the cops and popping off a few in my direction to avoid being caught, especially dudes who would shooting their customers at the entrance of the ramp going 95N.
