The Accidental Discovery of Spicy Coffee
It was a chilly evening in my tiny roasting studio, the aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans filling the air. I had just finished a batch of beans when, in my clumsiness, I knocked over a jar of chili-infused oil.
The fiery liquid cascaded onto the beans, soaking them before I could stop it. My heart sank. These were premium beans, and now they were ruined—or so I thought.
Not wanting to waste them, I spread the soaked beans on a tray and set them near the heater to dry. Curiosity gnawed at me. Once they were completely dry, I decided to brew a small batch.
The result was surprising: the coffee carried a warm, spicy kick that blended harmoniously with the beans' natural flavors. The heat was subtle, dancing on the palate like a whisper of fire.
I shared it with a few friends, and their reactions were unanimous: “This is amazing!”
That’s how spicy coffee was born—a happy accident that turned a potential disaster into a bold, new flavor. Now, it's one of my favorite, a testament to the magic of serendipity.
