The media has been shadowbanned from sharing the news with the world. Street CCTVs were shut down during protests. Platforms like TikTok and Meta were forced to remove protest content.
This is what Indonesia is currently facing:
1. Civilian ride-hailing driver was killed by armored vehicle during protests.
2. Children poisoned by contaminated food in the govt's Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program. Lab tests show serious safety failures.
3. Fuel scarcity despite promises of "quota relief". Private gas stations like Shell and BP are running dry. The govt is pushing to rely on state-owned fuel.
4. Doctors & paramedics under threats. They are facing unpaid incentives and govt law changes that violate human rights. Medics treating the injured were also attacked with tear gas during protests.
5. Journalists detained & assaulted around Parliament. They are being harassed from reporting the news.
6. Rice shortage and prices are rising due to high demand. Many families cannot afford basic food.
7. Tax burdens. Govt adding big taxes on daily necessities.
8. Govt approved a $3,000/month housing allowance for THEMSELVES, while the majority of Indonesians are struggling in poverty.
9. Tone-deaf govt members mocked citizens as stupid, and sang and danced during this situation.
